AL Stanback Cultural Visual Arts
2024-25
6th, 7th and 8th were all taught different levels of shape lettering or "graffiti" lettering and were then asked to create their name using the processes they had learned.
A.L. Stanback Cultural\Visual Arts extends an enthusiastic congratulations to Nora Algarra who produced this beautiful example of an en plein air painting composed for the annual "Paint it Orange" event. Her vibrant use of complementary colors (orange and blue) balanced with the inclusion of an analogous color set (blue, green and yellow) has created a dreamlike atmosphere inviting the viewer to explore the sun laden midground into the mysterious depths of the woods in the background. She has been awarded first place in the Middle School division, representing the Bulldogs at the highest level!
The year-long art class created an end of year print show. They highlighted the various prints they had made and some of the printing plates they used. They were asked to create linocuts, silkscreens, spray painted graffiti stenciled pieces and dry point etches.
6th, 7th and 8th all spent one day studying Van Gogh and his art and contributing to a group art project which was then displayed in the hall.
This is an example of an A.L. Stanback art student pursuing art on their own terms outside of class and producing a composition which was then displayed in the hall. This was inspired by the book "Journey to the West."
Select pieces of art from 6th, 7th and 8th grade art students were chosen to represent A.L. Stanback at a central office function. The projects were representative of the lessons the different grade levels were studying at the time.
