Student Discussion Groups about Race and Racism

If you've been watching the news, you may have questions about what's going on, why it's happening, and what it means for you. Please join me for an optional, age-appropriate discussion group about diversity, race and racism. No matter what you're feeling or thinking, or even if you don't know what to feel or think, it's ok and you are welcome. This will be a safe space to open a respectful conversation about these topics. To attend, click the link to join your grade level on the day/time specified.

๐Ÿ˜ท Coronavirus: A Kid's View ๐Ÿ

A Fifth Grader at OPS had the idea to create a Flipgrid board where all students could go to voice their feelings about COVID-19 and how it has impacted their lives. You asked, we listened! Click the link at right to go to the Flipgrid for your grade. There are questions there to help you think about what to say in your video. Don't like doing videos? No problem! Use the Padlet for your grade (PreK-3 or 4, 5, & 6) to write your response instead and make your voice heard. ๐Ÿ‘‚

Signs of Spring

Hooraaaaaayyy!!! Spring has sprung and there's proof everywhere! Take some pics around your house (inside or out) or while on a walk with your family and post them to this Padlet. (You can be in the picture or not.) Post as many times as you'd like! ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ›น๐ŸฆŽ (Please note: This board is moderated so posts may take some time to appear as they need to be approved.)

Staying Organized At Home

This video gives some great tips about what to do to stay organized at home. If you watch it and think, "yeah, but how??" - Don't worry! That's what I'm here for! Send me an email, request an appointment, or drop in during my office hours. I can help you with all your "how" questions! I can also answer questions about Google Classroom, Calendar, to-do lists, and more!

Questions about Coronavirus?

It's only natural to have questions, and there's a lot of misinformation out there. Take a look at one or more of the following resources below. If you still have questions, feel free to ask your parents, teacher, me, or another trusted adult who can give you the all information you need, and none that you don't!
