Hello! My name is Danielle Westdyk, and I am thrilled to be your child’s first-grade teacher this year! I am passionate about creating a classroom environment where young learners feel safe, inspired, and excited to grow.
I have been teaching for 11 years. I studied Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Special Education at Rider University. I then went on to receive my Master's in Literacy from William Paterson University. My goal is to nurture curiosity and foster a love for learning, with a special focus on building strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and social-emotional skills.
In our classroom, we embrace creativity, collaboration, and fun. Through hands-on activities, engaging lessons, and opportunities for independent exploration, students are encouraged to think critically and grow as confident learners.
When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love watching the latest Disney movies together or spending time outside. I love to read and bake whenever I get the chance.
I feel privileged to be a part of your child’s educational journey and look forward to working together to help them thrive this year!
Let’s make this year unforgettable!
Hello! My name is Jessica Strassberg, and I am so excited to be teaching first grade! With a deep passion for both teaching and learning, I strive to create an environment where every student feels valued and inspired. I love integrating my students' unique backgrounds and interests into our lessons, making learning more engaging and meaningful.
I received my Master's degree in P-3 education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I love to introduce creativity into everything I do and create opportunities for movement and self-expression, as well as incorporate the use of music!
Outside of the classroom, I am an avid musician and perform in a choir as part of a larger orchestra. I am excited to share my love for the arts with our students and help them to develop an appreciation for music and creativity.
I look forward to a magical year with you and our students!
