About Me

Hello! My name is Cheryl DeFeo, and I am excited to be your child’s first-grade teacher this year!

I have 11 years of teaching experience. Most recently, I was a Reading Specialist working with students in grades K–3. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a concentration in psychology from SUNY Cortland in 2003. I then went on to receive my Master’s in Literacy from The College of New Rochelle in 2006.

When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and our three children, Emma, Elizabeth, and Jackson. We also have a dog named Frankie, who we love to take on walks.

I strive to create a warm classroom community where everyone feels supported and included. I look forward to getting to know all of my first graders and their families. Please feel free to contact me via email.
