About Me

Hello! My name is Cheryl DeFeo, and I am excited to be your child’s first-grade teacher this year!

This is my 13th year teaching and my 2nd year teaching at OPS. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a concentration in psychology from SUNY Cortland in 2003. I then went on to receive my Master’s in Literacy from The College of New Rochelle in 2006.

When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and our three children. We also have a dog named Frankie, who we love to take on walks.

I strive to create a warm classroom community where everyone feels supported and included. I look forward to getting to know all of my first graders and their families. Please feel free to contact me via email.
