Semester 1: Epic Heroes

"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles." - Christopher Reeve

1st semester will focus on what it means to be a hero & the Hero's Journey - through literature. We will start with literature's oldest heroes like Beowulf, King Arthur, & Robin Hood and then move into more modern examples looking at what makes these characters - and ourselves - so special.
