Science with Ms. Kerr

Allison Kerr -

This year will be a year like never before. I know in March when we went home from our classrooms and did not return, I could hardly grasp the potential of not returning by the end of the school year. If someone had told me we would be starting the 2020-2021 school year virtually, I would have said there's no way. But here we are.

We are all trying to do our best to figure out how to best teach and learn virtually. As this year progresses, please be flexible along with me. Some things we try in the beginning, we'll learn don't work well, and we'll pivot to something else. No matter what, know that I care for you, and love you, and I'm so excited to be your teacher!

This will be my 2nd year at Oak Park High School after three years at Westlake High School. I earned my M.Ed from DePaul University in 2016 and my B.A. in Biology from California Lutheran University in 2011. While at CLU, I was a four year member of the Women's Volleyball team and was recently named to CLU's Athletic Hall of Fame. I was named a 2017 Knowles Teaching Fellow, which consists of a 5 year long fellowship to support early career STEM teachers by engaging in ongoing professional development and teaching practice inquiry. In my spare time, I can be found at the beach, training for marathons and triathlons, or hiking through the beautiful mountains with my rescue dog, Jax, in southern California.
