DOC Application Status and Lottery Lists

The Oak Park Unified School District Board of Education approved the acceptance of DOC applicants at the Board meeting held on January 23, 2024.  All applicants in grades TK-5 and grades 9-12 were accepted.  If you applied for our Oak Park Independent School, please look out for an email of acceptance from Jennifer Burstein.

For applicants in grades 6-8 at Medea Creek Middle School, since the number of applications exceeded the number of available spaces, a lottery was held. Please see below for the notice of the lottery and details

Find your family lottery number...

1. Locate your Unique Identification Code within the lists below.

2. Your family lottery number will be listed to the right of the code.

Each family unit (regardless of the number of applications submitted) is assigned a unique identifier code based on first four letters of the street name followed by the house number.

Notice of DOC Lottery

I didn't receive a unique identification code, what do I do?

Make sure you are checking the email that you used to fill out the application with. Double check your SPAM and Trash folders as well.

If you still cannot find any email that includes a unique identification code, contact  Brad Benioff at bbenioff@opusd.org

I would like to withdraw my application from the lottery. What do I do?

Email Brad Benioff  at bbenioff@opusd.org the name(s) of the student(s) along with your family lottery number and request that the application(s) be withdrawn from the lottery.

I missed the December 31st deadline to submit an application. Is there anything else I can do to have my student(s) enrolled in Oak Park schools next Fall?

If you missed the deadline to submit an online application for District of Choice you can still apply for an Inter-District Permit. Keep in mind that an Inter-District Permit is not related to the District of Choice lottery and requires a release from your resident district.
