AI can assist and inspire but it doesn't replace your unique human voice, emotion, or creative intent. AI generated art is just one tool among many: like a camera, photoshop or a paintbrush. 

It is important to understand the difference between INSPIRATION and IMITATION:

• Make another person's work your inspiration

• Mix different ideas

• Embrace your own artistry

• Your uniqueness makes you stand out

In order to promote artistic integrity, you must explain how and why AI was used at any stage of your project. Whether it be a thumb nail sketch or a reference image.

College Board - Artificial Intelligence AP Art & Design Policy

AI is allowed in the early stages of the artistic process. Using generative AI tools to create final submitted artwork is prohibited. All finished pieces of artwork submitted as part of the Art and Design Portfolio must be the student's own work. Students must disclose any AI use in the AP Portfolio for artwork in both Sustained Investigation and Selected Works.

Art plagiarism is a form of cheating and it is against the OPUSD Academic Honesty policy.
