Why Study A World Language?

To have a conversational use of the language that is comprehensible to a native speaker. (Through speech and writing)

To improve listening skills so that one is able to understand a native speaker.

To enhance reading comprehension of the language through authentic readings from magazine ads as well as culturally based readings.

To open one's eyes to the ever shrinking global world around him/her and to help one realize that he/she is an active part of that world by being bilingual. (Career opportunities, travel, becoming a well-rounded individual through literature and art)
