The National Honor Society (NHS) is one of the nation’s premier organizations recognizing outstanding high school students. Membership is based on four pillars:
Scholarship – Maintaining strong academic performance
Service – Volunteering your time to help others
Leadership – Taking initiative in school and community activities
Character – Demonstrating honesty, respect, and responsibility
Students are inducted in the Spring semester of Junior year and serve through Senior year.
JUNIORS with ALL of the following (or REAPPLYING SENIORS):
3.3 Cumulative GPA on transcript
College-Prep Courses - a minimum of 4 marked as AP, DE, GT, honors, or pre-AP on your transcript
No major disciplinary actions
Minimum of 6 teacher recommendations
Proof of community service and leadership throughout your high school career
Maintaining Membership:
$25 fee due before Induction, $26 fee for graduation stole due senior year
Attend mandatory meetings twice a year
Maintain GPA and no major disciplinary actions
Schedule 3 academic courses each semester of senior year
Document 4 service projects completed during membership
January 12 - Applications for 2027 Graduate Candidates Open
January 24 - Applications DUE
February 2 - New Members Announced
March 1 - Induction Ceremony
