The OPRF Huskies took down Simeon in the Regional Semifinals today by a score of 12-2, led by an amazing pitching performance by Cam Barnes. Barnes pitched all 5 innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 runs. On top of that, he faced 17 total batters, and struck out an outstanding 10, easily earning the win. When it came to batting, Johnny Nelson and Xavier Martin both had 2 hits. Nelson started his day off with a sac fly to bring in one run, while Martin hit a triple in the bottom of the second to drive in one run. Martin led the team in RBIs with 3, while Ian Moore and Oliver Puntilo both had 2. The Huskies collected 6 total walks and stole 9 bases, cut down on the errors by not committing a single one, and will host Mt. Carmel, who also blew out Morton today 12-0. The 2 teams will meet this Saturday, May 30th at OPRF.
The Huskies capped off their regular season with a win at Willowbrook, squeaking by 6-5. The Huskies started off the game with 2 runs in the second, as Xavier Martin drove in 2 runs off a triple. They scored 4 more runs in the top of the third, building their lead up to 6. Zach Goldberg first scored on a wild pitch, before Brandon Beasley homered to right field to score 2 runs. Robert Kolovitz capped off the inning with an RBI single. Willowbrook started to mount their comeback almost immediately, as they turned around and scored 3 runs in the bottom of the third off a single, an error, and a wild pitch. They added 1 run in both the fifth and sixth inning, but Tucker Henry secured the win for the Huskies by pitching a 3 up, 3 down inning on just 6 pitches. Henry was awarded the win, striking out 3 batters and allowing 3 hits and 2 runs in his 4.1 innings pitched. He finished the season with a record of 5-1. He took over for Griffin Arnold, who started the game. He struck out 2 batters, allowing 3 hits and 3 runs in his 2.2 innings pitched. Brandon Beasley led the way on offense, going 3-4 at the plate with a double and a 2 run home run. Ian Moore also had 2 hits of his own. Xavier Martin tied Beasley for the most RBIs with 2. In total, the Huskies had 10 hits and stole 5 bases, but also committed 4 errors. The Huskies will need to cut down on those when they host Simeon in the IHSA Regional Semifinal on Wednesday.
For the second year in a row, the Huskies have won the West Suburban Conference Silver Division Championship. This is the eighth time the Huskies have won back-to-back Conference Titles, with the last time this happened in 2015 and 2016. The Huskies 3-peated in 2007, 2008, and 2009, and won 4 in a row from 1985 to 1988. The Huskies narrowly beat out Lyons and Hinsdale Central to win the Conference Championship. Like most of the recent games for the Huskies, York hit first, scoring their only run of the game in the top of the second off an error. The Huskies tied the game right back up in the bottom of the inning when Oliver Puntillo crushed a ball to right field. Neither team scored in the third, and the Huskies grew the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Brandon Beasley started off the scoring with a sac fly to bring in one run, and Xavier Martin hit a 2-RBI double to make the score 4-1. Beasley took over in the fifth, as he hit a grand slam, which brought in Zach Goldberg, Ian Moore, and Johnny Nelson. Liam Moroney capped off the inning by stealing home. The Huskies turned a double play in the top of the sixth, and started off the bottom of inning with Goldberg's second double of the day, a single from Moore, Nelson walked, and Beasley hit another sac fly to bring in Goldberg. Grayson Waters finished the game with 2 strikeouts and one last groundout ended the game at 10-1 for the Huskies. Waters started and pitched the whole game, letting up just 4 hits and 1 run, while striking 6 batters out in 7 innings, earning the win. Beasley was the star on offense, bringing home 6 runs and a grand slam. Goldberg also had a great day at the plate, going 2-3 with 2 doubles. Robert Kolovitz and Liam Moroney both had 2 hits of their own, and Martin had 2 RBIs. The Huskies had 12 total hits, while also stealing 9 bases. The Huskies committed just 1 error, and will hope to keep the good times rolling as they take on Willowbrook this Saturday and Simeon in the Regional Semifinals this Wednesday.
The Huskies once again dominated York, winning 13-3. York jumped out to an early lead again, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first. However, the Huskies flipped the game on its head in the third with 8 runs. The inning started off with Johnny Nelson reaching first base on an error, and then 3 consecutive walks to score 1 run. Brandon Beasley scored on a wild pitch afterwards, and Xavier Martin capitalized on full bases with a double, scoring 3 runs. Martin later scored on an error, and Nelson hit an RBI single to make the score 7-2. Liam Moroney capped off the inning with a ground ball turned into an error, which let Ian Moore score. The Huskies turned a double play in the bottom of the third to keep the inning short, and once again exploded, scoring 5 runs in the fourth. Martin scored on a wild pitch, and Nelson followed that up with a 2-RBI single. Moore later scored on a wild pitch, and Nelson scored on another error during that same at bat. The Huskies conceded another run to York in the bottom of the fourth, but Owyn Edwards pitched a 3 up, 3 down inning to end the game in the fifth. Edwards earned the win, allowing 2 runs and striking out 3 batters throughout the entire game. Although the Huskies scored 13 runs, they capitalized off of York’s 5 errors, letting them score as much as they did, even though they only had 6 hits. OPRF had 2 errors of their own. Nelson led the way with 2 hits and 3 RBIs, while Martin tied him with 3 RBIs. The Huskies look to sweep their second straight series, as these teams face off again this Thursday.
OPRF kicked off their series against York this week with a 8-4 win at home, spurred by big second and fifth innings. York actually started off the game with the lead, scoring a run off a ground out in the first. The Huskies responded with 4 runs in the second, as Robert Kolovitz hit an RBI single before Oliver Puntillo crushed a home run to left field, scoring 3 runs. York tied the game back up in the top of the fourth with 3 runs, but the Huskies regained the lead in the fifth with 3 runs. Johnny Nelson hit a 2-RBI triple, and Liam Moroney added a run with an RBI single. The Huskies put the game out of reach in the sixth when Zach Goldberg hit an RBI single. Tucker Henry didn’t let up a hit in the top of the seventh, sealing York’s fate. On the mound, Cam Barnes got the win with 4 strikeouts in 5 innings, while Henry was awarded the save with 1 strikeout and just 1 hit allowed in his 2 innings pitched. Both Goldberg and Ian Moore had 2 hits, while Moroney led the team with 3, going 3-3 from the plate with a double. Puntillo led the team with 3 RBIs, while Nelson trailed him with 2. The Huskies had 12 total hits as well. It wasn’t all pretty for the Huskies, however, as they committed 2 errors and turned just 1 double play all game. They still got the win, and they can try to iron out all of the kinks tomorrow at York.
I had the pleasure of interviewing 2 seniors on the team, Cam Barnes and Johnny Nelson before senior night, getting to ask them about their high school baseball career. When asking Barnes about his favorite moment from OP Baseball, he answered “Probably [the] Fenwick Game, my junior year. That was easily the most electric environment I’ve been in high school baseball for sure.” Nelson responded with “Also the Fenwick game last year. I just thought it was awesome to show out in front of our fans like that and play a great game and win it, especially against our rivals.” I then asked them both how they want to finish out with their OP Baseball careers. Barnes responded with “I want to beat Carmel, our regional, and then go on and play the number 1 team in the state and the number 5 in the country, Saint Lawrence.” Nelson responded with “I wanna go as far as we can in the playoffs, knock out some great teams in our sectional and win state.” The third question I asked was what will you miss most from OP Baseball, and Barnes said that he will miss “all the seniors, all the POs. We’ve grown up together, so I mean, it's always been fun. I’m going to miss them for sure.” Nelson stated that he will miss “getting to come out here every day, play with my buddies, and just have tons of fun” the most. Finally, I asked them both what OP Baseball has taught them. Barnes said that “It’s taught me resilience. Even with all [our] struggles, every team that I’ve been on here has struggled and every team has made it out on top. So the resilience factor, it comes from our coach, Campbell, he’s been great.” Nelson claimed OP Baseball taught him “a lot about determination, and just, because baseball, it’s a grind, and you gotta come out every day, do the same thing, and it's easy when you’re doing it with these guys.” Through the ups and downs of their high school careers, Barnes and Nelson have withstood the test of it all and are now approaching the mountain top. Resilience and determination has helped them immensely and gotten them exactly to where they are today. Barnes will be playing for Eastern Illinois University and Nelson will be playing for Wright State University.
It was Senior Night for the OPRF Huskies last night, and they got a nice send off with a 11-1 win over Proviso West. The game started off slow for both teams, and Proviso West struck first with a run in the top of the second. OPRF turned a double play to close out the inning, before Rylan Soble drove in a run on a ground out and Ian Moore hit an RBI single. The Huskies enjoyed an amazing 3rd inning, as 4 runs were scored. Liam Moroney was hit by a pitch, which brought Zach Goldberg home. Oliver Puntillo then hit a 2-RBI double, and Soble brought in another run after a dropped 3rd striker. The Huskies kept scoring, adding 2 runs in fourth off a Moroney triple and a Soble groundout. 2 more runs were scored in the fifth, when Tucker Henry hit an RBI single and Johnny Nelson hit an RBI double. The Huskies capped off Senior Night in the bottom of the sixth when Connor Krumrei hit an RBI single. 4 different players had 2 hits, those being Nelson, Puntillo, Krumrei, and Moore. Nelson, Puntillo, and Krumrei are all seniors. Moroney, Puntillo, and Soble all had 2 RBIs. Griffin Arnold was awarded the win with 3 strikeouts and just 1 hit given up in his 2 innings pitched, while Owyn Edwards also contributed with 4 strikeouts in 2 innings pitched. OPRF allowed just 2 hits from Proviso West, and didn’t commit a single error. The Huskies are hitting their stride as the season narrows, and they’re going to need to play their absolute best as the regular season winds down and playoffs start. The Huskies take on York next week, with home games on Monday and Thursday before ending the regular season on the road at 26-4 Willowbrook.
OPRF continued their dominance of Proviso West with another blowout win, this time it being 16-2. For what the score ended up being, the Huskies started relatively slow, scoring just 1 run in both of the first two innings. Sam Kalina kicked off the scoring with an RBI single, and Rylan Soble also brought in one run on a ground out. The third inning was where the majority of OPRF’s runs came from, with them scoring 13. There was no defining play of the inning, but the Huskies did get 6 walks from just the inning alone. Proviso West could only muster up 2 runs in the bottom of the third, and the Huskies scored another run in the fourth. Neither team scored in the fifth, and the Huskies left with a 16-2 win. It looked like Sam Kalina was by far the best player out on the field, as he went 4-4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Soble also had 2 hits, along with 2 RBIs. Matt Davis and Dino Pantazopoulos also had 2 hits, with Pantazopoulos also having 3 RBIs. The Huskies had 14 total hits and took advantage of 6 errors committed by Proviso West. Seth Osta earned the win after letting up 2 runs and striking out 5 batters in his 3 innings pitched. All signs are pointing to another blowout and a sweep of Proviso West, which would be the first sweep the Huskies have had all season. The next game takes place this Thursday at OPRF on Senior Night.
OPRF gets right back to winning with a 12-0 drubbing of Proviso West. The Huskies hosted the Panthers this Monday, and followed their pitcher, Cam Barnes, to get the dub. Barnes pitched all 5 innings, allowing 1 hit while striking out 10 batters. The Huskies scored in all 4 innings of play, with 2 in the first, 3 in the second, 6 in the third, and their final run in the fourth. Johnny Nelson and Oliver Puntillo both hit a triple, and Connor Krumrei hit a double. Nelson and Ian Moore led the way with 2 hits each, while Zach Goldberg, Krumrei, Puntillo, and Liam Moroney all had 2 RBIs. The Huskies totaled 11 hits, stole 4 bases, and didn’t commit a single error in their near-perfect victory. These teams face off again tomorrow at Proviso West, before the series is decided on Thursday, which is Senior Night.
The Huskies’ 7 game winning streak came to an end in the second half of their double header this past Saturday, falling to Hinsdale Central by a score of 12-6. The game started off fast, with OPRF going up 4-2 after one inning. Johnny Nelson and Robert Kolovitz both hit an RBI single, before both of them scored on ground outs. Hinsdale Central scored 3 runs in the bottom of the second, giving the Red Devils the 5-4 lead. The Huskies were held to one hit in the second, third, and fourth innings, which let Hinsdale Central add 2 more runs in the fourth. OPRF got back on the board in the fifth, as Brandon Beasley hit a 2 run RBI double. Hinsdale Central put the game out of reach with 5 runs in the sixth, and OPRF could only get one hit in the seventh, which put an end to their 7 game winning streak. Owyn Edwards started the game for the Huskies, allowing 5 runs and 3 hits through 2 innings with 4 strikeouts in 2 innings pitched. Tucker Henry came in to try and salvage the game, but couldn’t get the job done, allowing 7 runs and 6 hits in 4 innings pitched. He did have 5 strikeouts, however. Edwards was given the loss. Brandon Beasley was a bright spot for the Huskies, with 2 runs and 3 RBIs in 4 at-bats. The Huskies had just 6 hits to Hinsdale Central’s 9. The Huskies also had 2 errors. The Huskies can try and turn things around next Monday against Proviso West on May 11th.
The first game of the Huskies’ Saturday doubleheader took place at Downers Grove South, with the Huskies pulling out another 1-run win, this time it being 7-6. Unlike Friday’s game against Hinsdale Central, this one started out with a bang. OPRF scored 2 runs in the first, as Liam Moroney tripled and brought in two runs. DGS responded with 3 runs of their own, and added on another in the second. OPRF responded with 2 more runs in the third, as Brandon Beasley homered, bringing in Johnny Nelson as well. DGS kept on scoring, with one more run in the bottom of the third. The Huskies tacked on 2 runs in the fourth, with Nelson and Robert Kolovitz both scoring RBI singles. Sam Kalina then came in for Collin Kjarsgaard in the bottom of the fourth, and he prevented the Mustangs from getting another hit until the bottom of the seventh inning. The Huskies kept their 6-5 lead from the fourth going into the seventh, where they added another run from an Ian Moore sac fly. DGS tried to come back, but could only muster up one run. Kjarsgaard started the game for the Huskies, but after he gave up 4 runs and 5 hits in 3 innings, Kalina came in, struck out 3 batters, and allowed just 3 runs, all in the seventh. Nelson and Moroney both had 2 hits, while Moroney and Brandon Beasley both had 2 RBIs. The Huskies finished the game with 11 hits, forcing DGS to use 4 different pitchers. This 7-6 win extended the Huskies winning streak to 7 games.
OPRF grinded out a win over Hinsdale Central this past Friday, winning 3-2. Hinsdale Central started the game off with a run in the first and another in the third. Neither team made much noise through the first five innings, and OPRF finally got on the board with 2 runs in the sixth. Brandon Beasley brought in one run on a ground out, and Robert Kolovitz followed that up with an RBI single. Neither OPRF or Hinsdale Central could score in the seventh, however, leading to the game going into extra innings. In the top of the eighth, Johnny Nelson singled, and then advanced to second on an error. Ian Moore scored on the same error, giving the Huskies the 3-2 lead. Tucker Henry then put Hinsdale Central out of commission in just 5 pitches. Grayson Waters started the game on the mound for the Huskies, and let up 3 hits and 2 runs through 5 innings, with 9 strikeouts. Henry got the win, allowing 1 hit with 3 strikeouts in 3 innings. Henry is now 4-1 on the season. Moore and Nelson both led the way for the Huskies with 2 hits each. The Huskies had 9 total hits. Following this win, the Huskies turn their focus to a doubleheader against Downers Grove South and Hinsdale Central on Saturday.
After a great past week for the Huskies, they take on Hinsdale Central this week, and today's game was a back and forth affair. The game immediately started off hot, as Hinsdale Central scored 6 runs off Cam Barnes. After just ⅔ innings pitched, Griffin Arnold replaced Barnes to keep the Huskies out of even more trouble. The Huskies responded in the bottom of the first, with 3 runs. Ian Moore got OPRF on the board with an RBI double, before Liam Moroney hit a sac fly to bring Moore home. Brandon Beasley hit an RBI triple during the next at-bat. Hinsdale Central scored 1 run in the top of the second, and OPRF scored 2 in the bottom. Zach Goldberg hit an RBI double and Ian Moore then hit an RBI single. The Huskies tied up the game in the third when Goldberg hit a 2-RBI double. The Huskies took the lead in the fourth, as Brandon Beasley hit an RBI single. The gap widened in the fifth when Goldberg hit a 2 run homer. Hinsdale Central tried to retaliate in the sixth, but could only muster 1 run. The Huskies held on to win 10-8. The obvious star of the game was Zach Goldberg, as he went 4-4 from the plate with 5 RBIs and 3 runs, including a 2 run home run and 2 doubles. Ian Moore also had a strong showing with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, while Brandon Beasley had 3 hits and 2 RBIs. The Huskies had 13 hits throughout the game, as Hinsdale Central had to use 4 different pitchers. For OPRF, after Cam Barnes started the game off poorly, Griffin Arnold came in, letting up 4 hits and 2 runs in his 5 innings pitched, achieving the win. Oywn Edwards was given the save for letting up 1 hit in 1.1 innings pitched. The Huskies did commit 3 errors, but Goldberg’s superhuman performance was enough to lead the Huskies to the win. These two teams face off again this Thursday.
On Andrew Hagins day, OPRF added to their winning streak with a 14-4 win over Hinsdale South. Andrew Hagins was a former standout baseball player and student at OPRF, and sadly passed away back in 2023. However, his memory still lives on and the Hagins family established the Andrew Hagins Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded every year to a player who exemplifies Andrew’s supportive nature and his spirit of humility, while demonstrating coachability, leadership, resilience, integrity, loyalty, and ability to be a team player. This year, the scholarship was given to Tucker Henry. Full of emotion, the Huskies started the game off with a bang, scoring 2 runs in the first inning. Robert Kolovitz hit a 2-RBI single. The Huskies didn’t score again until the fourth, but they exploded with 4 runs. Brandon Beasley crushed a ball to right field on the first pitch of the inning, setting the tone for the rest of the inning. Xavier Martin and Oliver Puntillo scored on separate wild pitches, while Johnny Nelson, Zach Goldberg, and Ian Moore all scored on the same error. Kolovitz also scored on a separate error. Finally, Rylan Soble hit an RBI double to bring the score up to 10-0. Hinsdale South finally made some noise in the fifth inning, scoring 3 runs. However, OPRF responded immediately, with 2 runs. Hinsdale South scored 2 more runs in the sixth, but OPRF closed the door on a potential comeback and even added on an extra run to win 14-4. The Huskies once again had a great day from the plate, with 14 hits. Hinsdale also had 4 errors, contributing to OPRF’s dominance. Collin Kjasgaard achieved the win, giving up 2 hits in 4 innings. The Huskies have let up only 8 runs in their past 4 games, while scoring 42 runs of their own. They hope to keep this hot streak going as they take on Hinsdale Central this week.
Fresh off of 2 straight wins over Downers Grove North, the Huskies blew out their cross town rivals Fenwick 16-2 this past Friday. The game, which took place at Triton College, saw no runs in the first inning, but an explosion in the second. OPRF scored 5 runs, including a 2-RBI single from Julian Garcia-Bariel. Fenwick responded with their only two runs of the game, both being scored off an error. Neither team could make much noise in the third or fourth inning, but Brandon Beasly hit a sac fly in the fifth, restarting the scoring for the Huskies. After a 3 up, 3 down inning from Tucker Henry, OPRF scored 10 runs in the sixth and final inning. Ian Moore hit a RBI single to bring home 2 runs, and Robert Kolovitz also brought home 2 runs with an RBI double. Beasley followed the 2-RBI trend with a single, and then Oliver Puntillo, Garcia-Bariel, and Johnny Nelson all also brought home a run, with Garcia-Bariel and Nelson hitting a double. Henry pitched another 3 up, 3 down inning to close out the game. It was a masterclass of a game for the Huskies, as Henry pitched an amazing game, with 6 strikeouts in 6 innings. Nelson led the Huskies in hits with 4 and also 3 stolen bases, while Garcia-Bariel and Ian Moore both had 3 RBIs. OPRF finished the game with 17 hits, forcing the Friars to use 4 pitchers. After the dismantling of Fenwick, the Huskies turn their focus towards Hinsdale South this Saturday on Andrew Hagins day.
Coming off a 5-1 win yesterday, OPRF once again held Downers Grove North to just 1 run, this time winning 7-1. The Huskies had a stellar first period, starting it off with 2 singles. Johnny Nelson then hit an RBI single, and Robert Kolovitz also got a run home on his ground out. Nelson scored on a wild pitch during the next at-bat, and Liam Moroney reached first base on an error. OPRF couldn’t add on to much after that, but the momentum carried the Huskies for the rest of the game. DGN scored their only run in the top of the third, and the Huskies responded with 2 runs of their own in the fourth, as both Zach Goldberg and Ian Moore stole home. In the sixth inning, Kolovitz hit an RBI triple, while Liam Moroney hit an RBI double the next at-bat. The Huskies held on in the top of the seventh to win, led by the amazing pitching from both Grayson Waters and Owyn Edwards. Waters struck out 5 batters and allowed 4 hits and 1 run in his 4.1 innings pitched, while Edwards had a masterclass when put the game away, striking out 3 batters and allowing 0 hits in 2.2 innings pitched. Waters was given the save. The Huskies stole 8 bases and committed zero errors throughout the entire game, and Goldberg led the Huskies in hits with 2. Kolovitz led with 2 RBIs. After breezing past DGN, the Huskies must remain focused as they take on Fenwick Friday night, at Fenwick.
It was OPRF Youth Day for the Huskies today, and they gave the community a good show by taking down Downers Grove North 5-1. The Huskies started off the game quick with 2 runs in the bottom of the first. Zach Goldberg homered to left field on just the third pitch of the game, and Brandon Beasley followed that up with an RBI single. Downers responded with a sac fly in the second to score one run. Neither the Huskies or Trojans scored from the third to fifth innings, but the Huskies put the game out of reach with 3 runs in the sixth. Robert Kolovitz started the inning off with a home run to left field, while Beasley and Ian Moore both scored on a passed ball later in the inning. The Huskies didn’t let up in the top of the seventh, and held on to win. Darren Law and Griffin Arnold combined for an amazing pitching performance, letting up just 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 batters. Beasley led OPRF with 2 hits, and the Huskies hit 7 balls in total. After evening up the series at one apiece, the final game of the series comes tomorrow before OPRF takes on their rivals, Fenwick, this Friday.
After Monday’s game was rained out, the OPRF Huskies and Downers Grove North Trojans started their series on Tuesday at DGN. The Huskies were on a hot streak coming into the game, winning 3 straight and 6 of their last 8. DGN was even hotter, winning 5 straight, including a 21-0 win over Proviso West on April 21st. When the game started, however, it seemed like the Huskies were truly the hotter team, as Liam Moroney hit an RBI single on the third at-bat of the game. DGN matched with a run of their own in the bottom of the first, but the Huskies responded well and scored 4 runs in the top of the third. Out of those 4 runs, the most exciting play was when Zach Goldberg hit an RBI triple, bringing home 2 runs. Neither team scored in the fourth, but DGN started to mount their comeback in the bottom of the fifth, with 3 runs. The Huskies could only up one hit in top of the sixth, and DGN completed the comeback with 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 8-5. Although OPRF lost, Cam Barnes pitched very well, striking out 10 batters. Tucker Henry came in for relief and was given the loss. Goldberg and Moroney were tied for the most RBIs, both with 2. Johnny Nelson, Goldberg, Moroney, Xavier Martin, and Oliver Puntillo all had 1 hit. Both teams committed various errors, as OPRF committed 3 and DGN 4. Ultimately, the Trojans were able to overcome their mistakes and came back to win, potentially ending the Huskies hot streak. OPRF can try to turn it around tomorrow, however, as the Monday game was moved to Wednesday, at OPRF.
The Huskies returned from a near week long break to take on Proviso East, winning by a score of 10-5. The Huskies started the scoring off early, with 2 home runs in the bottom of the first. Brandon Beasley started the scoring off with an inside the park homerun, and Robert Kolovitz followed that up with a homer to left field at the next at bat. Neither team scored in the second or the third, but the Huskies added 2 more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Johnny Nelson hit a sac fly, and then Brandon Beasley scored an RBI single to make the score 4-0. After a quiet fifth inning, both teams had hot bats in the sixth. In the top of the sixth, Proviso East scored 3 runs after Liam Brown came in for Collin Kjarsgaard. The Huskies responded very well, scoring 6 runs, including an RBI double from Sam Kalina. Proviso East tried to mount a comeback with 2 more runs in the top of the seventh, but the Huskies played solid in the field to get the win. Beasley, Rylan Soble, and Kalina all got 2 hits this game, tied for most on the team. OPRF amassed 13 hits, stole 9 bases and turned 3 double plays, while only having one error. Kjarsgaard collected the win for the Huskies, only allowing 1 hit in 5 innings pitched. After a great win on Friday, The Huskies will take on Downers Grove North in their WSC series this week, as the Monday and Thursday games are at home.
