The Halo Code has been established to help end hair discrimination in schools and workplaces with a simple dress code that gives freedom to Black hairstyles. We're calling on every school and workplace in the UK to protect the rights of Black students and staff by adopting The Halo Code. 

In this campaign, the similarity in all our statements of our experiences was that we were fed up and frustrated with the lack of real progress on equality. Speaking in parliament about the experiences of being a young woman was quite intimidating despite it being my second time speaking in parliament. But it felt great to raise awareness of the experiences of not only just women in general but delving into the different experiences of different types of women. 

ICFree began in August 2019 and stemmed from The Advocacy Academy - a social justice program designed to help and train young activists. We are a group of six young black and brown young people who have experienced troubles with the education system, the criminal justice system or both.

This project involved ten schools collaborating and creating Gen Z Talks Back. As the chief editor of the publication, I am extremely proud of the work that we all contributed and put in. It took us months to agree on various topics underneath a huge umbrella - 'Perceptions Of Youth' and it was an amazing experience.
