The spotlights are back!

Thanks to an anonymous donor, the spotlights are back this year. Starting the evening of Saturday, September 10th and continuing through the night of Sunday, September 11th, two spotlights will flank the 9/11 Memorial in Overland Park. This display symbolizes the fallen Twin Towers and mimics the display at Ground Zero.

Visiting the 9/11 Memorial in Overland Park after dark reveals another dimension to the memorial. The artifact and surrounding elements reveal new characteristics under the lights. The textures and reliefs are enhanced and the artifact from Ground Zero stands below the towers of light, just as it stood in New York.
