District ARs and STCs have been assigned the District Test Coordinator (DTC) role. Districts/Schools create and maintain user accounts within the Kite Platform. When adding teacher accounts, please use a unique value such as the teacher’s SEID number or email in the Educator Identifier field. If a user already exists for MAST, just add a DLM role to their profile. Users administering both DLM and MAST must have user roles for both assessments, and all educators administering DLM must have the teacher role.

 Use the Student Roster and First Contact Survey Status extract to ensure the First Contact Survey is submitted, and the students are rostered to appropriate subjects.

Only students with active IEPs AND the Alternate Assessment checkbox marked under the Statewide Assessments Editor are eligible to take DLM assessments. Ensure all students eligible for Alternate Assessments are identified and in the Kite Portal before the opening of each window.

Monitor the Training extract to ensure that teachers have passed the Required Test Administrator Training.

Use the Fall Performance Report to monitor assessment activity for an individual student.

Use the DLM Instructionally Embedded Monitoring extract to monitor assessment activity for all students in a district or building prior to the end of the assessment window.

Review/Provide the Parent Interpretive Guide for IE Model States within the allotted time frame (the sooner the better, no later than fall parent/teacher conferences). 

Review the “ Talking with Parents/Guardians about Score Reports” resource.

Begin planning and preparing for next year’s administration.

After the OPI performs an initial student enrollment in mid August, districts can begin entering student PNPs (accommodations) in the Kite Educator Portal and complete each student’s first contact survey. Both should be completed at least one week before the opening of each testing window.

• Review the DLM Accessibility Manual to best select and understand supports available to students within the assessment that best fit their needs. 

For English language arts (ELA) and mathematics, the spring window is identical to the fall window.

All test administrators must complete DLM administrator training prior to administration of any testlet. Training can either be completed through an OPI facilitated training or independently in the Kite Educator Portal. The DLM Training for District Roles course can help identify which training is required for each role.

• Review the Assessment Coordinator Manual for further information on training requirements for administration. 

Test administrators download the Testlet Information Page (TIP) and access the test ticket in the Test Management section of Educator Portal, not the Instruction and Assessment Planner. 

• (Note: A testlet must be assigned to a student if you want to view/access the TIP (Testlet Information Page) to access in Educator Portal).

Testlets for all subjects are administered in Student Portal like they were in the fall window.

Monitor and support test administration. 

• Facilitate communication between the DLM staff and district staff during the assessment window. 

• Use the Spring Performance Report to monitor assessment activity for an individual student for ELA and mathematics. 

• Use the DLM Instructionally Embedded Monitoring extract to monitor assessment activity for ELA, mathematics, and science for all students in a district or building during and prior to the end of the assessment window. 

• Serve as the first point of contact for test administrators, answering questions about the assessment. Troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Be sure to conduct monitoring throughout your district to ensure active participation and assessment requirements are being met!
