Accelerating to New Heights

The AGATE conference is an opportunity for Montana teachers to learn about curricular strategies for meeting the unique academic needs of gifted students, as well as how to understand the social and emotional needs of gifted students. Conference begins Friday, April 19th @ 5:00 pm.

Keynote Speaker:
Tamra Stambaugh, Ph.D. is the Margo Long Endowed Chair in Gifted Education at Whitworth University. Stambaugh’s research interests include students living in rural settings, students of poverty, and curriculum and instructional interventions that promote gifted student learning. She is the co-author/editor of several books, book chapters, articles, and curriculum units including Comprehensive Curriculum for Gifted Learners; Overlooked Gems: A National Perspective on Low-Income Promising Students, the Jacob’s Ladder Reading Comprehension and Affective Series, Serving Gifted Students in Rural Settings (Legacy Award Winner), the GCQ special issue on low income, and The Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth Curriculum. Stambaugh frequently provides keynotes, workshops, and consultation to school districts nationally and internationally. She has held appointments on multiple NAGC committees over the past 15 years and has presented at the NAGC Annual Convention.

Montana Petroleum Resources Workshop

June 10 - 14, 2024

MSU-Billings Campus

This Workshop provides an opportunity for Montana teachers to learn more about the Petroleum industry and its impact on the people and economy of Montana and the nation. 

Hess Corporation is sponsoring the expenses of the Workshop.  All lodging, meals, and course materials will be provided for the participants at no charge. Attendance at the Workshop can earn either 31 OPI License Renewal Units or 2 Graduate Professional Development credits from Montana State University-Billings (MSU-Billings).

Lodging, meals, and classroom facilities for the 5-day Workshop will be on the MSU-Billings campus.

Prompt registration is encouraged, as the Workshop will be limited to 20 participants.

8:00am to 5:00pm daily (with lunch break) and includes two all-day bus field trips.

Instructors

Workshop is coordinated and instructed by current and former Montana Tech professors and assisted by other petroleum industry professionals from the area.
