My name is Mrs. Niewald and I am excited to be one of your fourth grade teachers this year! I grew up, not too far away, in Downers Grove, IL. I got my Bachelors degree in teaching at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. I spent my first 5 years of teaching at a contract school with Chicago Public Schools, teaching 3rd grade. This will be my twelfth year here at Longfellow, and my seventeenth year teaching in total.
I live in Oak Park with my husband, Mr. Niewald, my daughters, Isabel (10) and Adelyn (8), and my son, Benjamin (6). We love to go on walks and enjoy the festivals and restaurants in the community. Mr. Niewald is from St. Louis, so we travel between Chicago and St. Louis often to visit friends and family. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening, and camping. I look forward to a wonderful school year with all of you!
Hi everyone! I'm Ms. Termini and I am so excited to be one of your fourth grade teachers this year. I moved to Oak Park when I started attending Dominican University. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a certification in Special Education. This will be my fourth year teaching in District 97 and second year at Longfellow.
When I'm not at school, I like to read, hang out with my cats, paint, go for walks, and explore the country! I have three black cats at home: Toothless, Blink, and Blur. I'm looking forward to a great school year with you all!
My name is Mrs. Salazar and I am excited to be the classroom TA this year! I was born and raised in Louisiana, but moved here in the summer of ‘21 to be closer to my husband’s family. I am a Certified Medical Assistant but found my calling in elementary school while volunteering and substituting at my daughter’s school in Louisiana and have been hooked since then! This is my 5th year at Longfellow and my 7th year assisting and teaching.
I live in North Berwyn with my husband, Jose, my daughters, Selene (19) and Anelise (14), and my son Anthony (22), when he’s home from school at LSU. We also have a dog named Mona, two spiders, Clementine and Snax, and a snake named Casprina. When not busy with sports, we are usually hanging out with my husband’s family. We love to go to the movies and downtown to walk. In my spare time I love reading and swimming. I can’t wait to meet all of y’all and have a wonderful year!
