I am excited to introduce myself as your 5th grade teacher. This will be my fifteenth year here at Longfellow and my seventh year teaching 5th grade. After working for many years in Finance, I made a career change to Teaching and graduated with a Master of Arts in Education from National-Louis University in 2010.

I attended 5th grade in Miami, FL, where I mainly grew up. Currently, I live in Oak Park with my husband and we have two sons. My oldest just moved to Logan Square and graduated from the University of Missouri in 2025 with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Math. My youngest is beginning his Junior year at the University of Maryland and is majoring in Physics. I love to swim! Long ago I was a competitive swimmer at The Ohio State University and I still go back from time to time to compete in the annual homecoming alumni swim meet. I also enjoy reading, gardening and traveling in my spare time. 

I had a lovely summer! We spent a week near Asheville, NC for a mini family reunion. I also enjoyed spending time with friends, visiting with extended family, reading and puzzling, tending the plants in our backyard, and was a regular during 9:00 AM lap swim at Ridgeland Pool.
