I am excited to introduce myself as your 5th grade teacher.  This will be my 12th year here at Longfellow (Wow!).  After working for many years in Finance, I made a career change to Teaching and graduated with a Master of Arts in Education from National-Louis University in 2010.  I have since had the pleasure to work with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders here in Oak Park at both Longfellow and Mann Elementary Schools.

I attended 5th grade in Miami, FL, where I mainly grew up.  I currently live in Oak Park with my husband and two sons.  My youngest is an 12th grader at OPRF and my oldest is a junior at the University of Missouri majoring in Computer Science.  I love to swim (long ago I was a competitive swimmer at The Ohio State University) and enjoy reading, gardening and traveling in my spare time. 

I had a very "chill" summer.  I read several books, put new plants in the ground in our backyard, swam laps at Ridgeland, and began lifting weights at the new CRC. I also went on a couple short weekend trips with my family to Kentucky, Michigan and Missouri.

I am excited to learn about your summer adventures and to get to know each one of you. Let's get ready to learn while having fun during your 5th grade year at Longfellow!
