About Mr. Hayward

Welcome to 4th grade.  I am so happy that you are in my classroom.  This is my twenty-eighth year teaching at Mann School and my twenty-second non-consecutive year in 4th grade.  I have a Bachelors' Degree from National Louis University and a Masters' degree from Saint Xavier University.  I definitely enjoy working with technology and helping students develop and expand their writing into full narrative, expository, or opinion-based papers.  I also like working with students to help with their social-emotional needs.

Outside of school, I am married to my wife Melissa, and have two kids, Emma (11) and Connor (15).  Outside of schook, I am involved with the  Oak Park Teachers' Association, Boy Scouts, and enjoy working with students in tutoring.  My family and I reside in the northwest Chicago suburb of Wauconda, Illinois.   Our family dog is Adley who is  7 years old.  

I'm looking forward to a great year working with each fourth grader and their family.
