Meet The K-Team!

Ms. Erica

Hi, I'm Ms. Erica! I grew up in rural Michigan and moved here to go to the University of Chicago. I fell in love with the area and decided not to leave. My husband, daughter, and I live in River Forest. This will be my 19th year of teaching and my 7th year at Longfellow! I'm a National Board Certified Teacher and have been since 2010. I really love teaching, which means, I do it a lot! I teach kindergarten, yoga, and flying trapeze. I'm a recovering perfectionist, so I work to foster a growth mindset in myself and my students. With a growth mindset, we can ALL enjoy the process of learning!

Ms. Perry

Hi, I'm Ms. Perry! I’m so excited to begin my 20th year teaching this year. While I am new to the Longfellow building, and my 9th year in the D97. Over the course of my 20 years, I have taught everything from kindergarten to high school. When I’m not at Longfellow, I love hanging out with my family (2 kids), being outside, and being active. I love the excitement and joy that kindergarten brings, and I can’t wait to share that with my families at Longfellow!

Mrs. Schrems

Hi, I'm Mrs. Schrems!  I grew up in River Forest and now live in Berwyn with my husband and two young kids.  I enjoy taking walks around the neighborhood, gardening, and raising chickens!  This year will be my 21st year at Longfellow; I love this community!  While there have been many changes over the years, the best part of teaching remains constant: an excitement and love for learning, on my part and my students'.  Every year brings new possibilities.

Mrs. Tatro

Hi, I'm Mrs. Tatro! I grew up in Oak Park and live here with my husband and son. I love teaching in this community I call home. This is my 10th year teaching and my 7th year in kindergarten at Longfellow. When I'm not teaching, you can find me exploring technology, making things, and enjoying the outdoors. My favorite thing about teaching is finding the joy in solving problems and sharing both the process and the satisfaction that comes from learning with students.

Ms. Weigel

Hi, I'm Ms. Weigel! I grew up in Oak Park and attended DePauw Univeristy in Indiana, where I majored in Education Studies. I received my master's degree in Special Education at DePaul University. This will be my 2nd year teaching at Longfellow. Outside of school, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family (especially my two nieces and nephew!) and friends. I am looking forward to a great school year full of positive learning experiences, personal-social growth, and lots of fun!
