Class overview
In this room, the child is the artist. I strive to create choice in all of my lessons in order for students to learn to make their own decisions about their artwork and to develop their creative problem solving skills. I use a spiraling curriculum so that every grade gets to explore and learn about different art media but the concepts become more complex as the students grow.

Artsonia
Artsonia is our online art gallery. Students can use their iPads to take photos of their finished artwork, upload to the website and type artist statements about what they made.
Parents who provide their email can receive updates each time their child publishes a new work of art. The Artsonia account stays with your child, so they end up with a portfolio of their artwork from kindergarten through 5th grade!
About Ms. Tague
This is my 16th year teaching art at Irving School. I grew up in Oak Park and actually went to Irving when I was a kid.
Being an art teacher combines my two most favorite things: making art and working with kids. I love working with all different media from clay and fiber arts to painting and printmaking! I am always amazed at the creativity and imagination of the students.
I live in Oak Park with my husband, two kids and our dog. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, being outside, reading, gardening, and doing yoga.
