308 miles, 1/4 of the way done. Got my mail, thanks Brad,Judy, and Beth for sending mail. I got my food supply box with the mail. Spent the day packing, grocery shopping and resting.

I start again tomorrow, will be out of touch for 9 days, very remote area no towns or road most of the way. I think I have my GPS fixed now so no more lost days. I'm going from Revelstoke to Castlegar about 140 miles. Thanks for all the great support. Send mail!

Very foggy/smokey today, used my compass to cross the lake to East side. Stopped in Downie Creek community and met Mike and some locals. Tried to re-power my spot but re-chargable batteries would not charge. Met a couple fishing who gave me the batteries I needed so I hope GPS tracking is working. Camped below Frenchman's Cap Peak on a river, I do not know the name. Great spot next to river and out of way of bears. Glad I took this one, a lullaby of sounds. Tomorrow Revelstoke and officially 1/4 of the way, 308 miles. More on that later.

Mica airstrip to just past Goldstream River. 20+ miles today finished at 3 pm. Very foggy this morning used my compass to navigate. Almost passed on this primo camp spot (see below), I was going to paddle for another hour. Glad I didn't. Fresh clean cold glacier water, soft sandy camp spot, and my own lounge chairs of dried wood. Almost like home. No animals today just a couple humans on a barge crossing the lake. Very beautiful when the fog lifted around noon. Helicopters still buzzing around checking on fires. Smoke is mostly up now and not on the river. In 2 days I will be in Revelstoke and 3 nights in hostel. I've been pushing myself hard to make the miles so a soft bed is something to look forward to.

Oh, when I landed here there were bear tracks in the sand, but they were old.
