KEEN
Summer Course Offering
Engineering Value in U.S. Manufacuring
Ohio Northern University, with support from the Kern Family Foundation, is pleased to offer a summer course open to students from all KEEN schools that will focus on the entrepreneurial mindset and its application in a manufacturing environment. Students will travel to multiple world-class manufacturing facilities, and work in teams to identify opportunities, build prototypes, and communicate solutions to clients.
The manufacturing sector in the U. S. is often portrayed as something that is in decay. To the contrary, many manufacturers are growing rapidly, and in serious need of good engineering and computer science talent. However, since much manufacturing is regional, many students are unaware of the excitement, opportunities, and challenges in today’s manufacturing environment.
We are very pleased to say that through the generosity of the Kern Family Foundation and with aid from Ohio Northern University, we are able to offer 12 students full scholarships including a stipend for room and board and travel.
