Welcome to the Level Up! Gamify the Classroom workshop, specifically designed for K-6 educators. Over the next four weeks, this professional development workshop will guide you in confidently integrating gamification into your teaching practices. You’ll discover how to design engaging, interactive lessons that boost student motivation and enhance learning outcomes in both math and literacy. Additionally, you'll explore versatile apps and tools that can be applied across a variety of subjects to make learning more dynamic and enjoyable for your students.
4 weeks: One module per week, with additional resources available anytime for further exploration.
By the end of this workshop, educators will:
LO1: Define gamification and explain its benefits, distinguishing it from game-based learning in the context of K-6 education.
LO2: Design and implement gamified activities and lessons that enhance student engagement and motivation, specifically in math and literacy.
LO3: Become familiar with various gamification tools and apps, learning how to effectively incorporate them into their teaching across different subjects.
LO4: Create and adapt lesson plans using gamification strategies to suit the diverse needs of their students, improving learning outcomes through interactive and engaging methods.

At the end of Module 4, you’ll have the opportunity to explore example lesson plans that demonstrate both original and gamified formats. Following this, you’ll participate in an activity where you can practice transforming one of your own lesson plans by incorporating gamification techniques to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
