How to setup Social Security account?
To create your Social Security account on, move ahead with the steps-
Sign-up with credential on 'Logingov' or 'IDme'.
Then, directly go to www.socialsecurity.gov setup portal.
Select “Create an Account”. Enter your credentials, get it verified on the portal. In case you don't possess 'Logingov' account, opt “Create an Account with Login.gov” and start the registration procees from initial point.
Steps to activate Social Security account
As you complete registration process on Social Security, you will receive an activation code. This account can be activated as -
Select any option to get code- On successful my Social Security account setup, it asks you to select a mode to deliver you Activation code. Go with any of the mode convenient to you- postal mail, text message, or automated voice call.
Receive the Code- If you've chosen message or phone call, then activation will be done at the same time. Go with the following step if got code via mail.
Head on to official website- Open your web browser, put in www.socialsecurity.gov setup. Select “Finish Setting Up Your Account” option here. Your account will be activated from here.
Agree with Terms- Proceeding ahead with the steps, you need to agree the 'Terms of Service'. This now end up with account setup.
Take benefits- Now with personal my Social Security account, track any application status, get idea of benefits you may get, ask for security card replacement and many others. Even if you are not getting benefits, you are access Social Security Statement, along with any Spouse benefits you get. Make changes to your address, if required.
