How to Get Started with TD Ameritrade?

Step 2. Create TD Ameritrade account
Get access to not only our products and services but also the knowledgeable support, innovative platforms, and educational resources you need to take on the futures market with confidence. After creating Ameritrade account, visit TD Ameritrade Login Page to use all services.
Step 3. Apply for futures approval
Log in to your account and go to Client Services > My Profile. Under Elections & Routing, look for Futures, and click Enable. Approval usually takes two to three business days.
To apply for futures and trade them, you need the following:
Margin and Options Level 2 approval
Enable advanced features during the futures application process
If you already have these requirements, you will go straight to the futures application. If you do not, you will be prompted to enable one or both requirements prior to applying.

After applying for futures approval, there are a couple of things you can do to get ready:

First time logging on and opened your account with a paper application?
Welcome! If you opened an account with a paper application, you’ll need to create your user ID and password before you can log on. Please visit the Create user ID page to do so. You’ll need your account number that’s listed in the Welcome Kit we mailed you and your PIN, which was mailed separately.
Have multiple accounts?
Simplify the log on process by linking your accounts. Log on and visit the Linked Accounts tab in My Profile. Please note that certain account types may be restricted from linking. For more information, log on and go to Help under Client Services.
Have a financial advisor?
If you opened your accounts with the help of a financial advisor, the website you should use is www.advisorclient.com. If this is your first time logging in, go to www.advisorclient.com/getstarted to get set up. You’ll need your account number and access to the phone number you provided when you opened your account to complete the setup process.
Is Ameritrade safe and secure?

You can log into the app with biometric (face or fingerprint) recognition, and you're protected against account losses due to unauthorized or fraudulent activity.
