Hi it's me, Kshetrimayum Surjit Singh. I am not a leader either; or a wealthy person. I am just like you all and living a simple life with my family of 5 members. My wife Ksh Ratana Devi is a house wife with our three children, Shimmy Ksh, our eldest daughter, Rutajit Ksh, our second son and Chusita Ksh, our cute youngest daughter.
I had taken voluntary retirement after working for about 17 years since 30th March 1998, from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) as Sub-Divisional Engineer or Assistant Director in October 2014. I secured 4th position in my PU Sc IInd Year (Old Course) examination in 1988 and secured 4th position in Physics Core,Three Year's Degree Course(TDC) from DM College of Science, Imphal, Manipur University in 1991. I did not completed my MSc Physics in Manipur Univesity as I started working as Asst. Teacher Science/Maths at Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound. After that I worked as Assistant Teacher Science/Maths at Maria Montessori School from where I had been selected as Junior Telecom Officer (JTO) in Department of Telecommunications(DOT), Govt. of India afterwards DOT changed to BSNL. This is a short description of my career.
I love changes in my life, innovative thinking and work to become successful. In my 17 years of 9-5 rat-race work, I learned a lot but finally decided to get rid of the race. After reading the books 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napolean Hill, 'Cashflow Quadrant' & 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' by Robert T Kiyosaki, 'The Secrets of Millionaire Mind' by T. Harv Eker and 'The 4-Hour Workweek' by Timothy Ferris I had decided to change my path of life.
I had been started thinking that how I could make people rich. We have come across a lot of complaints daily like road is not good, tape water does not come, electricity is not available .. etc. etc. But do we hear any questions like why do the government do not make people rich? Why is there no school that teach how to become a Crorepati? Why don't the financial institutions teach its staffs/workers to become a lakhpati or crorepati?
In my opinion most of the social problems or crimes will be ended automatically if most of the people become rich in the society. We can think of a society with 2-3 crorepati in every village or leikai and at that time what may be the look of our society. In reality our age old believe that 'Rich People are not good' is proved as wrong as all the big projects, extended help to needy persons or organisations, projects to save us from dreaded diseases, etc. are done by this Rich people only. Somewhere I read the owner of Facebook donated 400 million dollars to the project of preventing ebony virus. What could a poor person do?
My vision for online marup is not simply the marup. The power lies there that it can be integrated with the most powerful marketing system of the decade namely Direct Selling, Multi-Level Marketing and Online or internet Marketing. There is no lack of entrepreneur in Manipur but there is lack of Market or correct Marketing leading to 90% failure of Small Scale Industries or Startups. Actually startups and entrepreneurs in Manipur needs no money but Market. I always have a question, why are our local products always costly? Due to quality? quantity? Or what?
Finally it appears that the answer is Market.
A Group Photo of my Family
Statistically, about 90% of Manipuris know what is a Marup in our society. About 50% of us know what is MLM, Network Marketing. About 20-30% knows about online or internet marketing. As per by knowledge, till today there is no startup or entrepreneur in Manipur who uses Direct Selling, Multi Level Marketing or Network Marketing for his/her products. If we study NM or MLM, the first lesson is if the production cost of any product is Rs30/- then the market price of the product becomes Rs 100/- after adding the advertising cost, stockists, whole-sellers etc commissions to the production cost. And in NM or MLM the consumer's price of the product can be decreased by eliminating this extra Rs 70 used for advertising and commissions. So will not the price of local products be decreased if NM or MLM is adopted.
Another problem is small market. Most of the business activities are concentrated to Imphal area only within a population of 13-14 lakhs. So the market is limited and small. This problem will also be solved in NM, MLM or online or IM as these marketing methods can be carried out from any corner of the country provided a smatphone with internet facility is available there.
In future Online Marup could solve these problems as any person from any corner of India can join online marup. Only the thing is that the integrated Direct Selling Company could be an indigenous one like Romi Bags, Likla Bakery, Kangla Food Products etc.
