Employee pay is based on the number of contract days worked during the year.
Most employees work 180-200 day contracts. Some administrators and office personnel work 220-260 day contracts depending on the position.
Full-time employees are eligible for state retirement, insurance, and other benefits.
Part-time employees are considered "hourly employees" and work up to 29 hours per week.
My Benefits Channel is an online portal for employees that contains information such as annual training, monthly pay stubs, W-2's, and more.
InstaSub is an automated substitute management system utilized by all district employees to schedule days off and to arrange for a substitute.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I take a leave of absence and don't have enough sick leave to cover all the days? There are a few options employees can choose from in this situation. These will be discussed with you when you submit your leave request form.
If I begin working at OSSD mid-year, how will my pay be determined? We will look at how many work days remain in the school year and what your daily pay would be to determine what the overall "salary" is. That amount would then be divided by the number of pay periods remaining in the school year (including summer months).
My living/financial situation has changed during the school year and I need to make a change to my insurance. What do I do? This varies based on the situation. Please contact Julie Douglas to explore your options.
I'm a full-time employee (non-certified), do I have to take a lunch break? Yes. Any non-certified employee who works more than six hours during a day is required by law to have a thirty-minute lunch break.
I'm a non-certified employee; do I get paid for snow days? Yes. This includes early release due to inclement weather. On days that school begins one or two hours late due to inclement weather, full-time and part-time will be paid for a full day.
I'm a full-time employee who is considering retirement. What do I need to do to get the process started? Contact Paula Laxton no later than three months prior to the date you plan to retire. TCRS recommends planning as much as three years in advance in order to eliminate any potential issues. You can also schedule a meeting with a TCRS advisor who will assist you in selecting the best options for your retirement.
