This research initiative gathers data on how churches and para-church organizations in five countries across the Sahel are reaching children and youth in their nations with the Gospel message. It highlights successes, gaps, and opportunities to reach even more youth. Our goal is to share with you concrete ideas and empower you to make an even greater impact for Christ. Go ahead. About OneHope in the Sahel
The Sahel, the vast semi-arid region of Africa separating the Sahara Desert to the north and tropical savannas to the south, is as much a land of opportunities as it is of challenges. Despite deep-rooted environmental, political and security challenges, it has abundant human and natural resources, offering tremendous potential for rapid growth and is the home to over 10 rivers among which the rivers Niger and Senegal.
We currently have ongoing active ministry in 6 of the countries in Sahel, that is Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Tchad. These countries are largely dominated by Islam, extremism, and insecurity; hence it has been a challenge to access some parts of this region, but we are praying and believing the Lord for open doors into the unreached parts. We reach over 4 million children annually with the word of God and this is done through a fruitful collaboration with churches and parachurch organizations.
It is our prayer and goal that by the year 2030, every young heart in Sahel Africa, will have engaged with the word of God and experienced the overwhelming love of Jesus Christ.
