CO-OP/CAPSTONE PROGRAM
One of the best resources for exploring a career is our CO-OP/ Capstone program. Capstone is a paid co-op that provides students the opportunity to work in actual jobs and learn what it involves. They can discover the connection between what they learn in their school or their chosen CTE program and what the real world actually provides in the workplace.
Pathful Explorer is an online program that bridges workforce realities directly into education, providing meaningful career exploration. Students can explore hundreds of engaging day-in-the-life job shadowing videos of real people in real jobs.
With an internship at a local business, students are able to explore their career interests with assistance provided by businesses that have partnered with BOCES. Students are given the opportunity to work directly with a business mentor and have a hands-on experience in their career choices based on their interests.
Job shadowing allows for students to explore a career by following an employee at a specific workplace and learn about the occupation or career pathway they are interested in. This can help students get a literal example of what their job would entail and to ensure that they are going down the right track.
