Learning Outcomes:
Understand the components of The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA, the Dignity Act)
Learn reporting requirements for educators
Develop and enhance awareness and sensitivity to the range of experiences of the specific student populations as named in the Dignity Act
Understand how school climate and culture have an impact on student achievement and behavior
Understand bullying, harassment, and discrimination, including indicators, early warning signs, prevention and intervention strategies, and how to interact with families
Enhance the understanding of diversity and multicultural environments
Examine personal biases
Registration dates and links are listed below in bold. All information and materials will be e-mailed from Jennifer Talarico on the first day of the training timeframe. The training is split into two parts: 3 hours asynchronous work where participants are to work at their own pace throughout the given timeframe, then 3 hours of virtual synchronous learning and discussion via Zoom on the last day of the training timeframe (date and time will be listed below and on the registration). Participants will turn in two assessment/feedback forms to be complete, and then after the training we will report the completion electronically to NYSED TEACH accounts.
*The training is $50 unless you are an Orleans/Niagara BOCES employee - the information to send payment is on the registration form*
