Rideshare apps, such as Uber and Lyft, are available in San Juan and are the best way to get from the airport to the hotel (see next section). There is also a bus system, the 5 can take you from the airport to the hotel. You will not be reimbursed for any ground transportation required to travel between the airport or the hotel. Ask your PI about reimbursement options with your home institution, if necessary.
The event itself will be taking place in the meeting rooms at the resort you will be staying at, no additional transportation is necessary to attend the Megathon sessions.
You are responsible for any ground transportation you use when exploring the city during the Megathon.
The Megathon will be taking place at the Courtyard Marriott Isla Verde. The full address is 7012 Boca De Cangrejos Avenue in Carolina.
Check-in is at 4pm
Check-out is at 11am
You can leave your luggage at the front desk if you plan on arriving earlier or leaving later than those times.
Accommodations will be double occupancy, much like RosettaCon; 2 people and 2 beds per hotel room.
The hotel is right on the beach, has a fitness center, an outdoor pool, and a casino. You can learn more about the offerings at the hotel, and some of the outdoor activities nearby, via the hotel’s website: https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/sjuiv-courtyard-isla-verde-beach-resort/experiences/
Any questions about rooming can be directed to Camille Mathis on slack @Camille_Mathis.
Meals will be provided by the hotel from dinner Monday evening to breakfast on Friday morning.
Any dietary restrictions you noted on your registration form have been passed on to the hotel. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Camille Mathis on slack @Camille_Mathis.
If you are staying through the weekend, you are responsible for your own meals during that time period.

In March, the average temperatures range from lows of about 70°F to highs of about 85°F. For those of you planning to visit the beach, the water temperatures should be comfortable for swimming. March is in Puerto Rico’s dry season, but there may be occasional rain showers.
