At Ōmāhu School, every tamaiti belongs to one of our four house groups – Huia, Kiwi, Ruru, and Weka. These names have been part of our kura for many years and carry a special place in our history. Being in a house gives our tamariki a strong sense of belonging, whanaungatanga, and pride.
Our houses come alive during challenges, games, and special events, where tamariki work together, support one another, and celebrate their achievements as a whānau. The house spirit runs deep at Ōmāhu, creating memories and connections that last well beyond the classroom.
