Coach McFarland enters his first year as assistant coach for the girls program at Olympia High School. An alumnus of Bloomington High School, he specialized in the 400 (50.1) and 800 (1:56). He was a multi-time state qualifier in the 4x800, and narrowly missed a collegiate career due to an injury he sustained during his senior year. After a reprieve from track to focus on his professional career and family, McFarland made his coaching debut at Fieldcrest High School assisting with their distance program. Track and Field has had such a profoundly positive impact on Coach McFarland's life that he named his business Road Runner Real Estate in honor of the sport.
