Principal's News

School Closure Day: Friday 8th March 2024 - No school for students

Labour Day Public Holiday: Monday 11th March- School is closed

Dear Families and Friends of OLPS,

Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter.

I begin by expressing our deepest condolences to Clare Hicks - Deputy Principal, Religious Education Leader, and Learning DIversity Leader, on the passing of her deeply-loved dad, Laurie. Laurie passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. I know how grateful Clare is for the kindness that has been expressed to her over the past few days and we ask that you continue to keep her and the Hicks family in your prayers. Laurie will be buried at a private funeral next Thursday at Our Lady of Victory in Camberwell.

We look forward to seeing all our families at our Welcome BBQ this evening. It will be an opportunity to come together and celebrate being part of the OLPS community. The school will be open from 5.30 pm for you to wander around our classrooms and learning spaces such as our Arts room, and our STEM Centre, and take a look at the great learning that is happening in our school. The teachers will be there to answer any questions you may have and the children can explain to you how their learning spaces are set up and how their classrooms work. All parents are welcome in all our classrooms. I encourage our new families to take a sneak peek at all rooms across the school.

Thank you to the PFA Executive Team; Joanna Kelly (Lorcan and Sorcha), Alison Brown (Olivia and Sophie), Krista Conroy (Isabelle and Lily), and Leah Mariani (Emile) for coordinating the Welcome BBQ for us. Thanks also to the staff who will be in attendance this evening. I am very grateful to them for continuing to place relationships at the heart of all they do.

To ensure the evening is successful for everyone I do bring to your attention the following information:

Thank you for all your support, keeping our kids safe is our number one priority, so I hope that these reminders as taken in the spirit in which they intended.
