Tech with Mrs. Drake

My name is Janice Drake and this is my 12th year at OLP. I am the K-6 Technology teacher, tech integration specialist and support for the school.

My husband Tim, and I have been parishioners at Our Lady of the Presentation for 20+ years and have four children that we have educated at OLP. Our oldest son, Zach, graduated from Missouri State and plans to continue his education to become a doctor. Michael is a senior at Rockhurst University and is working towards a Biology degree. Andrew is a sophomore at University of Central Missouri and is excited to be away from home. Our youngest child, Jenna will be a junior at St. Michael the Archangel High School, will play tennis and is excited to take on some leadership roles in high school. In my "free" time, I enjoy spending time with my family/friends, reading, taking pictures, learning about new technology and attending my children’s events and activities.

I earned my BS in Education at Emporia State University and then I taught in the Olathe School District for 8 years. After the birth of our first child, I was blessed to stay home with the kids until our youngest started Kindergarten. I had always hoped to get back into education and was blessed to become Presentation’s Librarian. I loved being in the library but was excited to take on the roles as Computer Teacher and Tech Integration Specialist. As the Technology teacher and tech specialist, I am excited to help students and teachers learn about the important uses that technology has to offer. Last summer I became a Google Certified Educator Level 1. I love learning new things, especially in technology, so I can’t wait to share my knowledge with students in computer classes and in the classroom!
