What is Expected of Me?
As a Lector, you are called upon to proclaim the Word of God found in the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Proclamation of the Word is not as simple as merely reading the text, but reflecting upon it, internalizing it, and drawing the congregation into your words in order to help them visualize the reading.
As a Commentator, you are called upon to welcome the congregation to Mass, introduce the Mass, read the announcements, and lead the congregation in the Prayers of the Faithful.
