Governor Profiles
Tina Rance - Chair
I am the Chair of Governors, a previous member of staff and parent of a child who left OLOR in 2023. This, coupled with my governor role gives me a strong all round knowledge and perspective of our wonderful school.
Since my previous role as Office Manager at OLOR, I have worked for Essex Police and I am now a Pastoral Manager at a local secondary school. As well as supporting the Headteacher, my primary focus is safeguarding; my previous and current experience therefore benefits this link and it is one I take extremely seriously.
My daughter now attends St Bernard’s High School in Westcliff, having benefitted from an excellent academic, religious and holistic education at OLOR.
As Chair, I am particularly passionate about our school’s mission statement where ‘everyone is welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to learn’. It is this ethos that is consistently promoted and fulfilled at OLOR. I am, therefore, proud to Chair the committee alongside my other equally determined and enthusiastic Governors.
Katherine Abel - Vice Chair
As a past pupil, and parent of three children who have been educated at Our Lady of Ransom school, I am proud to be one of the Foundation Governors.
My area links are currently SEND and RE and I am privileged to observe the wonderful dedication of the staff of our school in providing the very best care and education for our pupils.
I am passionate about the Catholic ethos of our school, and hope to work to nurture the connection of the school to our Parish, whilst ensuring all families feel included, welcomed and very much part of our special community.
Jenny Gamble
I am a Foundation Governor at OLOR, a position that I feel incredibly fortunate to hold. As a family, we have been heartened by the sense of community and welcoming at the school and I hope to be able to continue and encourage this feeling for all families with children at the school, and for those considering applying for their children to attend.
I am especially passionate that all children should be able to fulfil their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment, no matter their background, special educational needs or disabilities. I have a keen interest in SEND and ensuring that children and families receive the support they need and deserve to be able to thrive.
My background is in law; I am a solicitor at a local firm where I practise family law. I have specialised in this area of law for over 20 years now, in particular matters relating to children.
Sarah Graham
I am privileged to serve as a Governor at OLOR, a school close to my heart. As a former pupil, it is special to be connected now as a parent and parish member, with my two daughters thriving and our son looking forward to joining in the future.
My background is in the financial sector in marketing and events, I now run my own event and décor business. This experience enables me to bring creativity, organisation, and a fresh outlook to my role on the governing board.
I am passionate about the OLOR community and the values that have shaped generations. I am especially interested in supporting the development of SEND and look forward to helping the school continue to grow and provide the best for every child.
Paul Hyatt
I live in Wickford with my wife and our three children, each of whom have attended Our Lady of Ransom from reception all the way through to Year 6. All have now moved on to secondary education and beyond, but each one had such a happy and fulfilled education during their seven years at the school, and will take with them the fondest memories from their early year’s education. Becoming a foundation governor is a huge privilege, and allows me the chance to offer something back to such an exceptional school that was crucial in providing my own children with such marvellous experiences
Paul Dulieu
I’m proud to serve as a Parent Governor, supporting our wonderful school and helping ensure it continues to provide the very best for all our children. I live close to the school and have a child here, so I see first-hand the positive impact it has on families and the wider community every day.
Professionally, I’ve spent my career in communications and business, working with organisations to tell their stories, engage their audiences and make a difference. I bring those skills, along with experience in finance and governance, to my role as a governor, where I help to challenge and support the leadership team in a constructive way.
Being part of this governing body is a real privilege. I’m passionate about helping the school continue to thrive, both academically and as a caring, inclusive community where every child can flourish.
Anne-Marie Chester
I am a Co-opted Governor at OLOR School, having previously served as a Foundation Governor. I feel proud and privileged to act in this role.
All four of my children attended the school and have very happy memories of their time here. They have since completed their secondary education and beyond.
My link areas are EYFS, English and Maths. My background is in nursing, specifically oncology nursing, although I am now retired
