SEN Learning Support Assistant
31.25hr per week term time only 8:30am - 3:15pm with an unpaid 30 min lunch break
Scale 3 Point 6 £13.92 per hour - Actual Salary £19,134
We are looking for a dedicated, dynamic and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly school based in Rayleigh, Essex. The successful applicant will have a belief in inclusion and the right of every pupil to maximise their potential whatever their needs and abilities.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work within a phase team to support pupils’ learning in the classroom, including those with additional needs.
The ideal candidate will
be flexible, resilient and hardworking, providing 1:1 support to personalise and adapt learning to meet the needs of SEN pupils.
be able to work collaboratively with the SENCo, class teachers and other members of staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for SEN learners.
have good knowledge of how to positively support and enable children to thrive
have experience of supporting pupils with complex needs
demonstrate a strong understanding of autism and supporting pupils with autism within a mainstream setting
be able to confidently deliver activities and interventions across the school as required, under direction of the class teacher and SENCO. Ideally the candidate will have experience of delivering language and communication interventions, such as ‘Musical Communication’, ‘Bucket Time’ and ‘Talk Boost’.
have a high level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication/interaction skills
bring energy, enthusiasm and a flexible approach with the ability to look upon demands as an opportunity to be positive and inspirational
be willing to provide medical support for pupils, with appropriate training
take a proactive approach to supporting pupils in the classroom and/or in the SEN Base

Apprentice - Site Assistant /General Handyperson
Salary Range: £8.00 per hour (apprentice wage)
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (8am-4pm) (4 days on site 1 day at college)
Weeks Worked: Full Time – 52 weeks per year

Site Apprentice to join our welcoming primary school’s premises team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in facilities
management, maintenance, or site operations within an educational setting.
Working under the supervision of the school caretaker, you will assist in ensuring the school
environment is safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
You may from time to time be required to work within other schools in the Trust
Key Responsibilities
● Assist with general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site
● Support the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and facilities
● Help maintain a safe and secure environment, including opening/closing the site
● Assist with health & safety checks and compliance tasks
● Support with setting up rooms for school events and activities
● Learn basic skills in plumbing, electrics, carpentry, and grounds maintenance
● Daily cleaning duties
What We’re Looking For
● Be a team player who takes pride in the appearance and maintenance of the MAT buildings and grounds.
● A positive attitude and willingness to learn
● Good practical skills or interest in maintenance work
● Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
