Mr. David T. Stefanik is the Health and Physical Education teacher. He has been teaching at OLM School since 2010. Mr. Stefanik graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education. He has completed his Master’s Degree in Guidance from Providence College. He has served on the board of directors for the Woonsocket North Stars Hockey Program, East Woonsocket Little League Program, and the Woonsocket Parks and Recreation Program. He has a playfield that he helped create, named in his honor, at the Leo A. Savoie Elementary School in Woonsocket. While teaching in Woonsocket, he authored and directed a RI DOH $38,800 bicycle safety grant. The grant enabled every Woonsocket student, public and private K - 8 receive a free bicycle helmet (over 5,000 helmets) and training in bicycle safety from specially trained PE teachers. He utilized the CVS Corporate headquarters, police and fire departments, the Kiwanis Club, local bicycle shops, the Leo A. Savoie School PTG, local newspaper and radio stations to further educate the local students in bicycle safety.
