About Mrs. Lukens

I am excited to be working with such talented students at OLM. Teaching at a school that offers the most innovative opportunities to their students is a dream job to all educators. I am the Head Coach of all four of our First Lego League Competitive teams and the Technology Director for the School. I have spent 5 years working in the Westerly, Coventry, East Greenwich, and North Kingstown School Districts. In Westerly, I taught 4th grade and received two grants for technology. In North Kingstown, I introduced Google Classroom and Programming into both 4th and 5th-grade classes. Going into our second year with a Maker Space at OLM I look forward to stepping up the curriculum even more and implementing our 3D printer into our Engineering and Design curriculum. During the summers, I have taught Computer Coding to students 8-14 years at CCRI’s Kids College and various other Robotic camps here at Our Lady of Mercy. I have volunteered for the Tech Collective, Skills USA events, RISTE events, and the Nationwide Hour of Code Initiative. I support the Arts, volunteer at the Odeum Theater in East Greenwich, and have participated in the Art Masters program at OLM. I spend much of my free time with my family skiing in the winter and swimming in the summer. I have been part of the OLM family as a parent for the past 8 years and I am the proud mother of two boys 10 and 13. I love spending time with all of you and look forward to meeting our new families. I am pleased to be enhancing my own skills continuing my own education at UMassAmhurst in the Masters program for Science Education.
