This program aims to help students (and ME) deliberately pay full attention to what is happening around us and within us. In a world of extra sensory overload, it is easy for our minds to drift off from the task at hand. Each fortnight we will explore a simple technique that might be able to bring us back to the present moment. Feel free to follow along and see if these techniques work to help centre you and bring you back to NOW. (This body of work was adapted from Jan Chozen Bays "Mindfulness on the Go".
Using and focusing on our non-dominant hand. When getting off task, try focusing on your non dominant hand and settling it. While our dominant hands may be 11 years old (or 40 years old) our non-dominant hands are much younger and need patience. Next time your mind is wondering, let your non dominant hand help you to come back! Our Non - Dominant hand can reveal our Beginner's Mind which is full of new possibilities. If you really want to focus, try eating with your Non Dominant hand!
