Hi 8th Grade families -- welcome to my classroom!  My name is Alyssa Ferenz and I will be your child's homeroom and Math teacher.  My educational background is in the sciences with a Master's Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Massachusetts.  As you know, science and math go hand-in-hand so I am thrilled to be able to share that knowledge with our students!  Prior to teaching, I worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry performing clinical testing, research and development, and eventually project management.  I started my teaching career five years ago after spending several years raising my small children.  Pre-K 4 is where my teaching began but I am super excited to start this new chapter teaching math to middle schoolers at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel!  Outside of the classroom you can find me spending time with my husband and three kids (Vincent 10, Dominic 8, & Eliana 7), cooking, going out to eat, exercising, taking small trips, and coaching/watching sports!
