Welcome To The Choir Room

Hello and Welcome to the choir room!   I am Mrs. Faulkner and am excited to be returning to our classroom for what is looking to be a great year!    I started my passion for teaching music nearly 30  years ago as our school's general music teacher.   From there, our program has grown to multiple  middle school choirs, 2 high school choirs,  afterschool ensembles and I still get the pleasure of teaching general music as well at the 4th grade level.   My personal mission is to create experiences that allow  music to speak to our students' hearts, and to nurture them so that they can share their musical art with others in an equally profound way.   In our performance classes, we will study music theory and technique daily so that we become literate musicians and that we may articulately and emotionally communicate as artists.  Our program is open to all who desire to make music with us and email is indeed the best way to reach me.  For more information, program  or classroom details,  please check out our handbook link below.

A special thank you to the MEEMIC FOUNDATION for awarding our classroom a set of pitched hand bells and boomwhackers to be used in our general music and exploratory classes.   Pitched instruments are another fun way to practice reading notes  as we prepare for reading scores in choir and band.   In addition,  a special shoutout to Meemic Foundation Advocate, Redman Agency, for their local support and also to colleague Miss Malia Koger in securing this grant opportunity.
