Significance of Constructive Feedback During Early Years

It is common knowledge that praise and encouragement are high motivators to help children respond the way we want. As an early caregiver, it is vital to understand how to communicate with children and give essential feedback in a positive and constructive way. It builds confidence, and self-worth and helps them grow in the knowledge of what is right and wrong, as well as make positive choices about their behavior.

Humans are social beings and we seek out relationships with others and want to have camaraderie. Children are no different, even at the youngest levels of school age. The pre-K age group is in need of the warmth and acceptance of their peers as well as the adults in their lives. With assurance and positive responses to participation, these young children will grow and search for memberships in groups that accept them and have meaningful interactions with others. In a classroom setting, effective feedback will be shown by making time for student interaction. This will give each child a chance to share their ideas in a group setting which teaches them how to listen and give opportunities to others to share their thoughts in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Finally, we model receiving feedback on a daily basis in our lives, work, and relationships. We must demonstrate how to manage feedback and show our children how to skillfully manage it too.

Theme - Me and My Family

The first role models children have come from close family members. This is why the family has an important role in the children’s future. Family relationships not only shape their view of the world and their surroundings but also give kids the necessary tools to successfully sail through life.

Often, the little ones begin the learning process by copying gestures from mom and dad, brothers and sisters, or by playing during the summer break, or during holidays with their cousins and extended family. These family activities help children develop bonds with their close ones which are key to having a healthy social life later on.

Our kids share information about their family members and type of family they live, in front of teachers and peers.

As they grow up, learning the family member’s names and relationships don’t only help the little ones with their own family relationships, but also to create healthier connections with teachers, friends, and other people in their lives.

Munching Yumm !!!

Snacks are an important part of the day for Children.

Providing healthy and nutritious food and drink options within the school environment can improve student concentration, mood, memory, learning, academic performance and mental well-being and give them the fuel they need to thrive.

Consuming the right food at school has a positive impact on their bodies and brains, whilst helping to establish their lifelong eating habits.

Snack in School helps children develop their social skills; they can learn to listen, interact, share with others, and develop qualities such as empathy and understanding toward others. Most important is those kids are not interested in eating ,they also get inspired and started enjoying snacks with their peers.

STREAM-

Shadow Play

It's never too early to explore science and technology through age-based STREAM content that spurs the imagination. Engaging little learners with activities make learning fun and encourage young minds to explore new discoveries, test hypothesis, and try new things.

Our little learners learnt about Day, Night and Shadow .

What could be the better way to do this activity under the day light!!

Learners were very excited to go out for the activity. They learnt that Daytime is when they can see the sun and its light and Night time they can see stars and moon in the sky. They also learnt Shadow is formed when an object blocks the light. They formed shadows with their bodies . They observed that a shadow can show an object's shape, but it can't show colors or details.

Math : Sequencing of numbers

Understanding the meaning of numbers takes experience with counting lots of things, and you can help by giving your child this experience regularly. The more experience children have with counting, the more they will learn the meaning of numbers.

Sequencing of numbers is an important skill for preschoolers to learn because it helps them to develop their numeracy skills, organization skills and problem-solving skills. Learners of K1 engaged themselves in performing the activity of sequencing the numbers. They experienced sequencing with rote counting by arranging the numbers in a correct sequence. Finally it helps learners to become more confident in their ability to solve problems and understand complex concepts.

Observing, exploring and investigating about plants can be a great resource to cultivate a meaningful and fun learning experience for children. The leaf is one of the most important parts of a plant. Learning engagements@ K2

Rotational Center- Candid Construction

Children at an early age enjoy playing the most as while playing they are free from all the restrictions and limitations. Learners can select their favorite material and explore the most.

Centres are kept in the class for the learners to get them engaged and learn, as playing is itself a learning zone. K2 learners were asked to construct any of their favorite objects from Clay Mould. They were free to chose their favorite color and set their imagination free to construct a variety of objects. All the learners did their best and made items like fancy hand gears, vehicles, food, animals, and many beautiful things.

Math- Tell me who is Tiny?

Shapes are the form of objects which have boundary lines, surfaces and angles. Shapes are also classified with respect to their regularity or uniformity. Objects around us can be classified as big, small, tall, short and many other adjectives.

K2 learners were introduced to the concept of Small/ Smaller/ Smallest by showing them different objects of different sizes. Learners were explained to compare the objects and distinguish them. Further, to make the concept understandable they were engaged in an activity where they had to find the smallest objects from the sand with the help of magnifying glass. Objects of other sizes were also mixed so that they could compare. Learners enjoyed the activity.

We had our learners write their wish list in the cutout of stockings that they took home for Santa to collect from under their pillows. Learners sang Christmas carols. Holiday-themed games like solving a few jigsaw puzzles, creating Christmas ornaments with the given material within a minute, etc. were played. With snacks, accompaniments like cake and wafers were also served which kept everyone in the Christmas spirit.
