developing appropriate posture habits for preschoolers

Developing good posture during early years builds back strength now and reduces health risks later. Standing up straight and tall not only helps the child appear more confident, it also helps relieve muscle strain, backaches and neck aches. Developing good posture as the child grows has long-term benefits that will pay off throughout their lifetime. Proper posture helps back muscles relax, reducing fatigue, backaches and other pains. It also aligns the joints and bones in the spine.

How to improve child's posture?

To correct your child's posture you can-

Make sure they know what good posture is.

Show them how to sit and stand properly and set an example by correcting your posture too.

When you notice your kid's posture is poor, give a gentle reminder.

A word of praise when your child is properly sitting or standing appropriately can go a long way.

LEARNING ENGAGEMENTS @ NURSERY

english: i'm learning to write

Letter formation is the ability to form the letters of the alphabet correctly.Gripping the pencil strengthens the muscles of the hand and fingers while forming the letters improves control over the small muscles and creates a stronger bond between the brain and the hands. keeping this in mind this week letter nursery learners wrote A- Z in their red and blue line notebook. They were well- versed with the formation and were able to write independently. Our learners are now able to write the alphabet with confidence. Through this learning they enhanced their writing, reading, listening, organizational and communication skills.

Curious Explorers: i can Build an Insect

When learners squish, squeeze, pull, push a piece of clay it helps to develop the child's large and small muscles. It also enhances eye-hand coordination. And helps build a child's ability to focus and increase their attention span.

The Nursery learners made insects out of clay. As they are learning all about insects in their curious sessions. Our learners are now able to recognize various insects found in our surroundings. Learners of Nursery amazed us by making these almost believable yet cute looking little insects. We know the importance of clay play and hence encourage our learners to play with it.

LEARNING ENGAGEMENTS @ K1

Math: i'm practicing Number Names

Math is an important part of learning for children in the early years because it provides vital life skills. It will help children to solve problems, measure and develop their own spatial awareness, and teach them how to use and understand numbers and shapes. Our K1 kids wrote number names 'One to 'Five' neatly in their notebook. It helps children understand the concept of how our number system works, and how numbers relate to each other. Children who develop number sense have a range of mathematical strategies at their disposal. They know when to use them and how to adapt them to meet different situations.

Curious explorers: meet my Shape dog

Shapes play important roles in the creation of art. Learning shapes not only helps children identify and organize visual information. It also helps children understand other signs and symbols. Kids at a very early age start noticing different shapes and size, by making our pre-preschoolers prepare a lot with shapes.

The K1 Learners enjoyed some great ideas and played simple games about learning shapes. They did an interesting activity where we had asked our learners to take different shape cut-out and now they had to assemble it and they made a dog with the help of shapes. The activity helped the learners with logical thinking to use observation skills, exploring shapes with variations...A shape dog activity provided our little one a platform to develop and showcase their talents.

STREAM: Tangram puzzle is so much fun!

STREAM education involves introducing children to new concepts through activities and games. It essentially helps them live the concepts rather than only reading about them. These concepts can also sometimes be real-life problems where they need to find out the best possible solution to overcome it.

STREAM instructor played the Tangram game with the learners where the learners drew different shapes on white sheet and coloured them. Then with the help of their parents learners had cut the paper and arranged it in different designs. Like building blocks or Lego, Tangrams are wonderful for teaching about spatial relationships. In addition, they are a powerful tool in mathematics. Students learn geometric vocabulary and strong communicators in math concepts. They also become capable problem solvers and confident in their critical thinking skills.

field trip: i'm exploring my school campus

Stepping outside of the usual classroom environment and bringing a subject to life for comes with its own unique excitement and thrill for students, that undeniable 'school trip feeling'. Learners explored the school in this exciting field trip. They visited the canteen area, library, music room, science lab, computer lab, auditorium etc. They were overwhelmed to explore the school with their friends and teachers.
