From Our Desk

Children are born inquisitive, and it is this curiosity that allows them to learn more about the world through every experience and social interaction. Children like to explore, question, and use their imaginations, and this positive cycle of learning is fueled by the happiness that comes from discovery. Curiosity involves asking questions, finding answers or creating solutions, and not being afraid of failure. The world of a young child is full of new foods to taste, new people to meet, new games to play, words to understand, places to visit, and concepts to master. The infant and toddler will touch, taste, smell, climb over, poke at, take apart, watch, listen, and learn more than at any other time in life. It is, simply, how we learn. The more curious a child is, the more he learns. Nurturing your child’s curiosity is one of the most important ways you can help her become a lifelong learn

Classroom Connection

How do we develop a good connection with our students and even help them to connect with their peers?

Everyday we give them 5 minutes to communicate with their peers, motivate them to ask their peers how they are. We speak with our learners about their likes and dislikes. We also discover new things together in our play way learning. Such small activities help us to create a nice bond between us and our learners.

English

English is a language of international communication. Learning English from a young age will build the confidence of our learners. They will acquire a greater capacity for concentration and will be much more agile and effective at problem-solving. It also improves your cognitive ability and improves your communication skills. Recapitulation of Letter Kk was done with the phonic song and learners also named the objects related to the letter Kk. Learners drew Kite with the help of the different patterns of lines which they had learnt earlier and also coloured the same.

Math

As a teacher, it’s our responsibility to deliver lessons that develop students’ theoretical and applied mathematical skills. We make sure that our learners gain the utmost knowledge from our teaching. Math is always fun to learn when it,s thought in a quiz or in a game form. Number sense is so important for your young math learners because it promotes confidence and encourages flexible thinking. The introduction of number 3 with its value was done through flashcards. Formation of number 3 was done by clay and learners were asked to make 3 objects from the clay.

Teaching a concept to the students helps them to understand the things around them. They always keep on wondering why there are so many different things and why do we have to have to follow the rules. It’s our responsibility to give our learners proper knowledge about all these things.Topic of Traffic signal rules was done by asking them different questions related to it. Learners made the traffic signal craft by sticking the shapes. They coloured the circles and were asked to stick it in the correct sequence. By doing such kind of activities we develop the thinking power of our learners as how they can use the shapes and make creative things out of it.

Emotional Quotient

Emotional Quotient is an ability to monitor and manage our own emotions; it also ties in with our level of emotional intelligence. It can also help us to connect with our feelings, turn intention into action, and make informed decisions about what matters most to us. As we are in a continuous process of developing the emotional quotient ability among our learners, we always keep on asking them to express themselves by giving them a different situation and how they would react to it. By doing this kind of interaction we are also building up the communication skills and to be bold and confident also.

Curious Explorer

Curiosity is not only linked to success because it leads to creativity and discoveries. We should always encourage child’s curiosity for their growth. We always have some new concept in our lecture which helps our learners to think out of box and develop their imagination and thinking skills. In this session we would be developing fine motor skills and pincer grasp development of our learners. Tracing is always fun and it’s more fun when it’s done on sand. For them sand is used to only play but we also gave the knowledge on where else the sand is being used.

STREAM

STREAM-based education teaches children more than science and mathematics concepts. They focus on hands-on learning with real-world applications helps develop a variety of skill sets. It helps the learners to learn the concepts in a new way. It helps the learners to know the logic behind the concept which makes it easier for them to grasp knowledge and understand things faster. Learners had learned all about balancing activity where they gained knowledge how to balance a ruler on their 1 finger and how difficult it is but if done with full concentration they would definitely succeed.

Nutrition Week:

“Feeding Smart Right from the Start”. Proper nutrition promotes healthy outcomes, supports normal growth, development, and aging, helps to maintain healthy body weight, and reduces the risk of chronic disease leading to overall health and wellbeing. National Nutrition Week is observed every year from September 1 to September 7 to raise public awareness about nutrition and healthy eating habits.

We need to indulge the habit of healthy food in our learner’s right from the beginning. To motivate our learners we celebrated Nutrition week where we had a small parent-child workshop which was conducted by our school,s nutritionist Ms.Payal. Learners also made apple donuts and relished them very much. We also had designed a snack menu for the nutrition week which was followed by our learners. We all had a virtual snack time the week which the learners enjoyed and most of them also finished their tiffins.

Classroom connection refers to building trust in the relation of teacher and learners when it comes to learning it should always happen with fun but the fun does not mean playing all the time. Having good times with your learners should be our attitude to build relationship with our learners and to make our classroom a special and unique experience. The simple act of making personal connections with students, through shared smiles and sweet laughter, will bring contagious joy to our classroom.

Literacy

Writing is considered as a multisensory activity. As the children write the areas of the brain that control the communication between brain and hand is activated and these areas are the ones that develop language skills.

As they are visually tracking what they are writing the brain is even more engaged. Children who spend more time working with a pen and paper over typing have stronger reading and spelling. So the writing of letters in books as well as on different mediums was practiced in online sessions. Along with this to further emphasize on writing skills learners drew objects beginning with the given letter.

Math

Learning to write numbers is a key skill that helps lay the foundation for handwriting and math skills later in life. Children often learn to write numbers during the preschool and kindergarten years, and the right kinds of hands-on activities will promote number-writing skills, as well as give children time to practice their technique. Keeping this in mind sequencing of numbers, draw the objects for the given number, and extended pattern with colours all these were practiced in session to enhance their mathematical skills.

Theme

By engaging children in learning about domestic and wild animals we also can instill in them a sense of responsibility and respect for life, they learn how to love and care about other living creatures in our world. It builds natural curiosity among young kids to understand that they also need warmth, care, and fed by us. This in turn instills in their feelings of caring about others They also enjoyed learning about their habitats which made their learning all the more fascinating. Sheep activity with cotton dabbing and paper cutouts was done . This activity helped the learners to develop gross and fine motor skills. develop control of body movements. improve eye-hand coordination.

Curious Explorer

Through curiosity, we not only gain a new perspective on our world but insight into who we are and what is important to us. We also can find joy in things that typically may cause stress or confuse us. Similarly while making play dough our little learners are explored to the joy of creating their own “Alien” and giving their thoughts boundless ways to think and imagine about how the “Alien” looks and by naming their own “Alien” along with their buddies.

Horticulture

Kids learn best when engaging all their senses. With gardening, kids can touch and feel the dirt, seeds and flowers, see the vibrant colors and varied sizes of the plants, hear the sound of the vegetable when it is taken from the plant and smell the amazing scents of the flowers. Allowing all the senses to be involved helps kids understand and grasp the concept of gardening along with all the math and scientific concepts that go along with it. While planting their own money plant and decorating it they learnt to be responsible and take care of their plant and encouraged them to plant more trees .

Event - Nutrition Week

Getting children to eat healthy foods can sometimes feel like fighting an uphill battle. The leafier and greener the food, the greater the struggle. Child nutrition is incredibly important. Nutrition for children can also help establish a foundation for healthy eating habits and nutritional knowledge that your child can apply throughout life. Hence a Nutrition week was planned wherein learners munched on healthy food with their friends and teachers. This encouraged them to eat healthy food.

STREAM

Stream curriculum promotes 21st Century skills like collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and computation. To achieve a deep understanding of mathematical properties of computer hardware and software computation skills are very important and to build the base of computation skills and to tap their computation potential stream instructors had planned the game called colour sudoku.

ART

Art gives us immeasurable personal and social benefits. Art reminds us that we are not alone. Recognising colours and identifying their names is an important part of a child’s development. Early identification of colour help to create cognitive link between visual clues and words. Learners were taught brown colour recognition and identification as brown colour symbolizes stability and reliability.

English

Rhyming is a critical part of any language. It teaches learners phonetics and how language operates. Rhyming calls for listening carefully and closely the sounds that the words are made of. Children learnt the importance of rhyming words, in this case, the letter ‘u’. They were able to form words using their creativity and thinking skills. To excel at any language, one needs to possess good vocabulary, one which comes with reading, listening and rehearsing the words they have read or heard. Vocabulary is an integral part for a child’s success, not only in school but also in the long run. This week, the learners were introduced to words with four letters.

Towards the end of the session, the learners were able to recognize and break the words according to their sounds and read them.

Literacy Circle

Reading positively affects a child’s development. The objective of reading is to get the child acquainted with sounds, new words, and language which in turn develops early literacy skills. It will also stimulate curiosity, creativity, and imagination. This week Kipper’s Birthday book was taken. By the end of the session, the children heard and learned new words which will add to their vocabulary and build language skills. Their curiosity about the plot of the story helped them to focus better.

Nutritional week

Nutrition is important at every age. Your children need proper nutrients stay healthy and strong, and grow up healthy and strong. Nutrition for children can also help establish a foundation for healthy eating habits and nutritional knowledge that your child can apply throughout life.

The five main food groups include grains, dairy, protein, vegetables, and fruit, and are generally a good starting point for any child’s diet. The portions of each respective food group will depend heavily on age, genetic makeup, and physical activity. It is important to understand each food group to develop a well-balanced and nutritious diet for a child. The learners actually enjoyed eating the healthy food along with their teachers and friends. They also enjoyed being creatively making a cucumber airplane directed by Ms Payal Sinha (Nutritionist)

Art

Just a few basic materials will get a pre-schooler creating frame-worthy abstract art: The power of process art is that it allows toddlers the freedom to use materials for the simple act of exploring and experimenting. That's what makes “Painting with Yarn and Watercolours” such a great process art activity for toddlers. The end result was amazing, and each piece so very different.
