Field Trips In Education

Field trips help strengthen classroom materials and bring classroom lessons to life. Such trips provide students with the opportunity to visualize, experience, and discuss information. Field trips are undoubtedly one of the best ways to promote team spirit over several fun-filled knowledgeable activities. It is very important to learn things practically and what better way than taking them on different educational trips. Going on educational tours offers students an extraordinary cultural learning experience. These field trips incite the evolution of moral, personal, social, and study skills. They often develop leadership qualities and motivate them to perform better.

Field trip provides the student with the opportunity of having first-hand knowledge of happening in our environment. It helps to generate and sustain student interest in the subject. It aids the retention of information since the experiences are long-lasting. Field trips help students interact with what they are learning. The experience goes beyond reading about a concept; students are able to see it, manipulate it or participate in it physically. Students are able to see elements with their eyes rather than reading about and believing what they are told because it's in print. Visiting a farm and milking a real cow is much more powerful than reading about milking a cow. Learning and fun make a great combination. Field trips are considered fun, but the children learn as well, whether they realize it or not. Field trips give kids a great opportunity to develop proper listening skills. This allows them to learn how to follow directions and interpret expectations teachers will set for them in the future. Putting children in an environment where they must behave responsibly and follow commands, will help them develop skills they will need to take to kindergarten to have the easiest introduction to school life. This will also help at home.

Classroom Connection

It is the best way to get connected with the learners. The more we communicate the more we would be able to connect with our learners. Connection determines the quality of the relationship. Students who have access to more strong relationships are more academically engaged, have stronger social skills, and experience more positive behavior. Teachers always bond with learners at multiple levels, an emotional bond is very crucial. We cannot have a standard approach for all learners. Every child has different capabilities, styles, and paces of learning. Teachers as a mentor and a coach encourage and guide learners to achieve their goals in the field of education.

Nursery

English

The first step before even writing an alphabet or numbers is writing certain patterns which help kids to write numbers or alphabets. Nursery learners solved a worksheet of the sound /m/ where they had to circle the pictures that begin with the sound /m/. They wrote C curve patterns in notebooks.

Kids enjoyed the session by doing the sound /m/ activity of mango by making a collage with crepe paper and sticking into the scrapbook.

Curves – The curve pattern was done in an English notebook using a pencil. Learners were able to produce the correct /n/ sound and know the associated pictures and song. Learners were also able to visualize and know the characters and answer the questions asked by the teacher. Such activities help them to develop their fine motor, and thinking skills and are also able to recognize the pattern.

Math

Recapitulation of shapes was done. Learners were able to recognize the square shape by knowing its name, sides, and corners and tried tracing the square in the air and the sand. Learners were also able to recite the rhyme related to the square shape by doing actions. Threading beads helped the learners to develop their fine motor and counting skills, and thread the beads from 1 to 10 by counting. A recap of the concept of fat and thin was done through video, activity, and flashcards. Understanding language is important in order for a child to communicate successfully with others. Understanding the concept of opposites is important as it helps a child to learn how to compare two different things and to develop a more concrete understanding of a specific concept, Learning opposites also improves a child’s ability to describe things.

Theme

As Learners like to mimic the actions and sounds of the animals, a recap of the same was done by the teacher. This gives the learners a better understanding and helps them to identify and distinguish the animals. The teacher also explained to the learners about the different habitats of different animals through flashcards and audiovisuals. The learners enjoyed identifying different houses of animals during the activities at the rotational center by building animal houses using different materials (such as clay, ice cream sticks, and pipe cleaners). Also, the teacher did a recap of pet animals and their young ones through flashcards at the rotational center. Learners were able to match the pet with their young ones through flashcards.

Horticulture

Developing fine motor skills and learning to work independently build creative confidence through experimentation. Encourage creative thinking to build an eye for aesthetics by developing a composition. Learners did a leaf sticking activity in the scrapbook. This activity helped them to learn about the different shapes, sizes, and textures of the leaves.

Music

Music is a form of art. Music helps to build language skills, supports muscle development and motor skills, improves social skills and helps the learners to understand the culture. A small song was taught to the learners the wheels of the bus go round and round learners enjoyed doing.

Jr.Kg.

English

Learners learned new sounds and tracing of lower case letters 's', and 't on the sand, and on the whiteboard. Learners memorized rhymes through repetition. It is observed that young learners imitate the sound. A recap of the 'Oval shape' rhyme was done.

The story is content where young learners learn new words improve their vocabulary and their imagination power is boosted. Recapitulation of the story 'The ant and the grasshopper' was continued, and learners answered the questions from the story with enthusiasm.

Learners enjoyed making the letter 'T' with toothpicks in their scrapbooks.

Math

This week learners were introduced to the number 20 with counting and writing, which built confidence in reading and writing numbers. The concept of 'Between numbers’ were introduced through number lines and number blocks. We also executed the concept ‘Top and Bottom’ to strengthen and educate our young learners and get a deeper understanding of the same.

Theme

A recap of domestic and wild animals was done along with the activity of sorting wild and domestic animals. Learners were also taught to make dog face with origami paper. The introduction of habitats for domestic and farm animals was done along with the importance of how useful these animals are to us. For better understanding learners also matched the animals with their habitat. The teacher also asked some interesting riddles on the same to enhance their knowledge.

Sports and Yoga

By participating in sports, children are exposed to various mental, social, emotional, physical, and educational benefits. So keeping this in mind our sports instructor this week took the Frisbee game. Our little learners thoroughly enjoyed and had a spellbound time while playing this game. Yoga is a very ancient science that helps us to develop flexibility and strength in our body, happiness, and peace in our minds. This week in our yoga session learners were encouraged to form pyramids with the help of the teachers which will help them to improve balance, strength, endurance, and aerobic capacity in them.

STREAM

STREAM is designed to be an integrated approach to learning, one where all learners are prompted to think critically and beyond about the world. Colour is a powerful and important communication tool for little stars and the learners of Jr. Kg. had a wonderful activity where they had to dip their hands in orange colour paint and imprinted their palms on art paper and finger-dip in green colour with that they made wonderful dinosaurs with it. This helps the learners to develop their fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

Sr.Kg.

English

The teacher taught the learners how to form sentences in their notebooks, which enabled the kids to comprehend the principles of sentence construction. The introduction of action words was done with various exercises and games. The teacher also reviewed four-letter rhyming words later in the week. The next lesson introduced students to Naming words. The students took an active interest in the lessons and enjoyed them.

English Literature

The teacher began a new story called "Thing" in the reading class. The teacher gave the children a brief overview of the tale. The learners were encouraged to narrate the story aloud and explain the word formation and sounds.

Math

The benefits of teaching mathematics to learners through play are enormous. In fact, mathematical ability in the early years is a better predictor of future academic success than reading or attention. In the math session, learners wrote the concept of backward counting numbers from 40-1 in their math notebooks. In the last session, learners wrote the number names from 21 to 30 in their notebooks.

The teacher introduced the new concept of Few and Many with a lot of concrete objects, charts, and flashcards. Learners learned the concept of few and many with the help of examples and did the activities enthusiastically in the session.

Theme

Plants are the main food source for living things, including humans. Plants provide us with many vitamins to keep us healthy. It is important for children to know about plants and the importance of plants. Responsibility for caring for plants. Understanding- as they learn about cause and effect (for example, plants die without water, weeds compete with plants) Self-confidence – from achieving their goals and enjoying the food they have grown.

The teacher explained the uses of plants. Story – Grumpy Tree was done in class with the use of Puppets as a story enhances imagination and stimulates their creativity and cognitive skills.

Art

Art

Arts subjects encourage self-expression and creativity and can build confidence as well as a sense of individual identity. In the art session, the teacher introduced the shades of colors dark to light and light to dark. Students learned the shades and colored on the white sheets with the instruction of the teacher. Learners enjoyed the session and did the activity enthusiastically.

Zumba

Zumba

Zumba is a form of aerobic fitness exercise based on Latin American dance rhythms. Learners are taught some basic easy-to-learn movements; they do not have to learn complicated balance techniques or body poses as in yoga. The simplicity of the movements is part of the zumba's appeal. It is all about grooving to some peppy music, just what kids love and need to maintain physical fitness. Today when kids aren't getting a lot of physical activity, Zumba provides them an easy way to get moving. This helps them become confident as everyone is cheered on equally to give it their best. The kid-friendly sessions make the kids feel like they are at a party, while they are actually working toward their fitness.
