2023 Summer Math & ELA Work
Research indicates that students lose skills as they find few opportunities to practice during the summer months. In order to help prevent this summer slide, students are required to complete the following assignments. Completed assignments will be part of the first trimester grades. All work is due by the end of the first week of school.
Rising 8th Grade
Students are expected to complete the 20 assigned math and 20 assigned ELA skills using IXL. The skills are indicated within the program with a star and identified as a teacher-suggested skill.
This work will be recorded as grades in the first marking period. One grade will be for completing the assigned skills. Complete them all and you have 100%! Another grade will be the average of all your scores. You have to reach at least an 80 for the skill to be counted, but you will want to work a little longer to improve your overall average.
You are welcome to complete more than the required skills.
