First Trimester Archdioscean Instructional Goals:
1. Kinetic Energy and Graphing:
• Construct and interpret graphs to explore how an object’s mass and speed affect its kinetic energy
2. Newton’s Third Law and Collisions:
• Apply Newton’s Third Law to design solutions involving the motion of two colliding objects
3. Force, Mass, and Motion Investigations:
• Plan and conduct investigations that demonstrate how changes in motion depend on the net force and the object’s mass.
4. Gravitational Interactions:
• Construct and present evidence-based arguments that gravitational forces are always attractive and depend on the masses of interacting objects.
5. Electric and Magnetic Forces:
• Analyze data and ask questions to determine which factors affect the strength of electric and magnetic forces
6. Fields Without Contact:
• Provide evidence that electric and magnetic fields exist and can cause forces even when objects are not touching
