Congratulations to Lydia C.Â
for winning this year's Religion Bee!
Archdiocese of Philadelphia Religion Bee
When is the competition?
Our school will be hosting a religion bee during Catholic Schools Week. It is open for all students on C-Level. We are allowed to send one representative from our school to the regional competition held at Archbishop Ryan later in the month. In the event of a strong performance at the regional competition, you may be invited for a final, livestreamed competition at the St. John Neumann shrine in March.
How does the competition work?
Participants will pull numbers from a hat and sit in numerical order on stage. A moderator will go down the line of contestants and read a question for each participant. When a participant has gotten two questions incorrect, they will exit the stage at the end of the current round.
When only five students remain, the final round will begin. At this point, any wrong answers will mean instant elimination. The winner will be whichever student is the sole contestant remaining at the end of a full round of questions?
What type of questions will be asked?
I have a potential pool of 250 questions that can be asked at our local religion bee. These are the same questions that will be asked in the first few rounds of the regional religion bee, after which they introduce new questions to the pool.
Religion Bee Practice Games
The questions presented in the contest fall into one of the nine categories below. Each category has approximately 25 questions. On the day of the contest, questions will be pulled randomly regardless of category. You can use the links below to access a practice game for each of the nine categories.
The regional round at Archbishop Ryan will have more than just the questions listed below. I do not know what other questions will be asked.
